Okay, I have DarkBasic Classic. I just purchased DarkMatter, with the Enchancement Pack. There is also a 1.13 patch online. What order do they need to be installed in? I'm guessing it's the following, but just wanted to make sure:

1. DarkBasic
2. Enchancement Pack
3. Patch 1.13

If you have any other tips, I'd appreciate it. I'm new to the community and finally getting involved.

If I were you I would do:

1. DarkBasic
2. Patch 1.13
3. Enhancement Pack

For other tips....start small with your projects. If you want to work up to a big game sooner then start by making the basics that everybody makes (pong, pac man, tetris, space invaders, etc.). Then make your next string of projects small tech demos. For example if you wanted to work up to making a first person shooter your project list could be something like this:

1. All the beginner arcade games I mentioned
2. Exploring a big pretty complicated landscape in first person view
3. Game where you shoot balls out of a cylinder in first person view to hit giant squares
4. AI demonstration where several monsters walk around until they kill each other
5. Game where you and one monster walk around on a big pretty complicated landscape and shoot each other
6. Game where you and more monsters do deathmatch
7. One full level of an FPS game

You could break it down even smaller than that depending on what concepts you're trying to understand, but that's the gist of it.
