Having purchased DarkBasic Professional, to learn game programming, I found the manual accompanying it not help at all for a beginner like me.

The DarkBasic full version 1.13 advertises a Tutorial book and an Example and Demo CD.

I would appreciate if DarkBasic users using the above full version would let me know if this Tutorial Book would really hold my hand and help me learn DarkBasic.

I also purchase the Begginners Guide To DarkBasic of premier press.

If this Tutorial book contained in the DarkBasic Full version would be a real great help I would not mind purchasing this full version pack of DarkBasic.

However if this Tutorial book is the safe stuff you can read from the DarkBasic Trial version I do not want to go in for it.

Anyone knowing of any other learning material paid or free available anywhere on the internet helping one learn Darkbasic, I would be most delighted if you'll would let me know.

Thanks,

Chris

Well, check the newcomers board, there are stickies at the top with resources to help newcomers. One of them is my tutorial which deals with the basics of how to program, but not the 3D side of DB.

If you can't cope with DB Pro, buying Darkbasic won't help at all. The manual is the same size, and contains pretty much the same content.

Ya the DarkBasic "Manual" just contains the syntax which can be found in the program itself under help. So in other words no, dont get DBC for the manual.

Ahhhhhh.......lemme splain "problems".
It's just that I've got some tools that utilize newer DX9-ish technolog, and since DBC only supports up to DX8.1 it's having some compatibility issues.

As an afterthough on advice on which product to buy: DBPro has the technology, but DBC is more stable once you make sure everything is compatible.
