This is an alternative to using standard fonts and sprites for characters - using a BBC Font file, you can use this plug-in to display text in your chosen font.

In one command you'll be able to display text with a shadow, or scale it horizontally, vertically or both.

Nice, sounds cool . I presume it'll be a heck of a lot faster than the current text command?

Isn't it? Wasn't it? Marvellous!

Full screen text with 5x5 scaling (and animated colours) works out at around 100FPS (and an extra 5FPS if you dont clear the screen all the time).

As long as you dont do a lot of scaling it should work out somewhat faster.
