Im having trouble exporting PNG files with transparency. Yes I know im using a ghetto version of photoshop, but the damn thing SAYS it exports pngs. So anyway, I create a new document, with a transparent background, draw some stuff, save as a png, and load into dbpro. What do I get? Where there once WAS 'transparency' in photoshop dbpro displays as solid white. And yes, I am setting transparency on my object.

Any idea what im doing wrong? Do I need a special ps plugin in order to save the png alpha layer?

Thanks in advance this is driven me nuts!

Update! I was able to get transparency with a png BUT only after I GHOSTED the object I was applying the texture to. Still cant get transparency to display on a solid object. Figure that one out.

As a cheap alternative if you have MS Office, check out MS Photo Editor. MSPE has a transparency tool that is easy to use for PNGs. Click on the icon in the tool bar, select a pixel, and MSPE will pop up a dialog asking you what percentage of transparency you want for that color. Too easy.

The "it" is a kind of force that gives rise to technology, something undefined, but inhuman, mechanical, lifeless, a blind monster, a death force.

Does the transparancy work if you use the image to make a sprite instead or use PASTE IMAGE with the transparancy flag?

If you want a free image editor with good png support try gimp
