I was wondering if DBpro can make a digitized 2-D fighter (like Mortal Kombat) that will run smoothly. I have read that 2-D can run slow with DB. Just wondering. Maybe a future project.

It can handle Mortal Kombat if you use 3D plains Or sprites. Plains of course look 2D anyway, so it is still a 2D game.

I'm writing a 2d engine that is running quite smooth. Of course, all my graphics are internally made (ya baby!), but I'm not sure it that makes a ton of difference

Pasting images works just fine.

No need to get all technical

You just get your 2d digitl images in... and use a program to mask out the backgrounds... or you can record your subjects infront of a color of your choosing... preferably something they are not wearing or blends into what they are wearing. Blue and Green is what they use in the studios. ANyways... when you import the images into photo sho or paint shop pro they are easier to mask.

Once you have them masked export them to a file like PNG for best quality and size. and then use the frames as sprite. See tutorial stiky for more details on that... G'day

Thanks eeryone. One of my good friends is a PhotoShop wiz! Just wanted to make sure that DB wouldn't start slowing down in FPS. I've heard that it can be a little slow for CPU needy 2-D. I have never substantiated that myself, as I have only done 3-D. Thanks again!
