It's released! After about a month of hard work, and 3 months of planning, I'm finally ready to release my acoders.com compo entry: The Fourth Dimension. This has been a good experience. It's a puzzle game, combined with some action and nice music.

Aren't we already in the fourth dimension(I read it in a science book)?

In a book it sais that sientests say that there might be four dimensions: x,y,z,and time. It's reasonable to me.

There are 10 spacial dimensions (including x,y,z). Time is a temporal dimension.

For more information, consult Hyperspace by Michio Kaku or seek out the local string theorist in your neighborhood.

Although another theory says that there may be as many as 14 dimensions. Weird.

There's just 1 dimension, humans just want there to be more because 1 is small.(whole-numbers-wise)

uuuhhhh...no

the whole excuse of
Quote: ""humans just want there to be...(insert thing you want to disprove here)...because they like it" "
is a lame one...

some people try to use it to disprove everything from christianity to dimensions...

ever stop to think that maybe the reason everybody "likes" it is because common sense says that it's true and lots of facts seem to support it? (BTW when i say "it" i'm talking about everything that that theory is used against, not just dimensions...or christianity)

Mathematically there are an infinite number of dimensions. As far as physical dimensions go, String Theory shows that there are either ten or twenty-one dimensions, four of which exist as we see them now, and the others rolled up into an extremely small space. The mathematics support the physical laws only in those two instances but ten seems most probable.

As far as disproving, many things have been disproven but people believe what they want to because they have a need to believe. I had a sister-in-law who believed the Earth was flat and that everyone was being fooled by the scientists and the government for some strange twisted plot. Many things have been disproven and people continue to believe weird things otherwise their fragile, make-believe world collapses. I prefer reality.

This has sparked an idea. Has anyone tried any four dimensional graphics yet with Dark Basic? I've seen wireframe hypercubes rotating on a computer before back during the early nineties.

Displaying a hypercube is one thing, displaying a 4 dimesional world wouldn't be worth trying. It would just be too confusing to look at, plus we're not sure how to visualize things like spheres in 4D. There are many interpretations.

Yeah, I was reading a Popular Science from a while back and they had a thing like that. I found this part quite interesting:

A 1sphere is a circle, because it's border is one dimensional (a line).
A 2sphere is a sphere, because it's border is two dimensional (a plane).

Now imagince a 3sphere!

Looks cool, downloading now.

Trying to imagine what a 3sphere would be makes my mind explode.

EDIT:
Tried the game. It was very good except I wish the player could walk a little faster and I wish he could walk diagonally.

Are you allowed to use that james bond theme music?
