Very nice UV mapping on the sword.

Are they limbed and animated?

Good luck with the game, looks like you've made a lot of progress , still a long way to go though.

Somethings not right about this... If he can model that why did he go to the trouble of requesting modelers for weapons/characters if he can do them himself.

2000-3000 is okay but may be too big, especially when alot is on screen at once. You could try reducing to 1 k or develop some kind of LOD system to handle the characters.
