Hi,

This is probably going to sound like a stupid question but what programs would I need to create fully animated charachters, animals, space-ships, or whatever and give them individual moves and animations, like walk, idle, crouch etc. I've tried working with Charachter Shop, but it's too restricting, I want to create my own animals / people and give them my own special moves - other than the ones listed on Charachter Shop.

Somebody Help me!

Character shop is just a collection of animationss, CharacterFX limits you to organic models.

You probably want a general-purpose 3d modeller. Look in the Game Development Kit for Beginnners thread for a ton of links.

Here are my favorites:

gameSpace
trueSpace3.2
Milkshape3d
gmax(if you can get it to export)
3d Studio Max(if I had the money)
Maya(see 3d Studio Max)

Crazy Donut Productions, Current Project: Project Starbuks
Sony stole our name!
