Yeah, the storyline was good and the vehicles were pretty cool for a while. But I didn't think the marines were useful at all because you only got help from them in a few areas when there was so much potential in having a bunch of people helping you.
Quote: "and you like mindless fast pace shooters....
we should all throw it away??"
While I usually prefer faster paced shooters I find nothing wrong with the slow ones so long as they're playable. I prefer playing my favorite FPS, Shogo, with a game speed probably about equal to Halo but becasue of the balance with Shogo's weapons and the tractor beam it's actually fun unlike Halo where it was just boring and frustrating trying to move from one area to another.
Quote: "listen just because you don't like this game doesn't mean it sucks"
I don't like FarCry but I don't think it sucks, same with Painkiller and a bunch of other games.
Quote: "OMG....you say halo is a joke yet you don't say anything about farcry being the biggest joke ever?
farcry is just a graphics showoff the levels are one big island that is VERY boring and VERY Repetitive...i can't believe you are even comparing halo and farcry in the same sentance"
Ummmm... FarCry is actually a pretty open-ended game that allows you to use strategy and stealth to accomplish your goals. There is usually more than one way to do stuff (eg. you can push a barrel down a hill to kill some enemies or you can snipe them, throw a grenade at them, or just ignore them completely and continue on) which is something most games lack.
Also, when I said "people should know better" I meant that most people seemed to just go along with the trend. They would praise the graphics but the graphics weren't that good, they weren't bad but they weren't anything to rave about. But the biggest problem I felt was the gameplay, aren't games supposed to be fun? For me Halo felt literally like a chore, I only played it so I could get rid of it (I've finished every FPS I've started). Games aren't supposed to be like that. Now, sure, maybe some of my statments are opinions but I've been playing first person shooters for over 10 years (since Catacomb Abyss and Wolfenstein) and I've played a very large portion of them so I would say that my opinion has some bearing seeing I've experienced everything that can make or break a game. I just can't find any reason to endorse this game.
