Hi, I am trying to figure out if I would be able to make a game with at least 100 or so players on a server or not. Would I have to write the server program in VB or C++, and then have the game connect to that? Or what else would I have to do? Thanks in Advance.

DB supports 255 connections and can act as the server. The biggest problem is cramming the data of 255 players through your bandwidth.

That's not a problem for now. How would I go about doing this though? If I want the game running constantly would I have to have the game Actually running on my server box, or could I make a seperate DarkBASIC project and just have it with out the GUI of the Game.

ok i dont really know about the codeing here but you would need the game (or some form of program that would collect the data from the players computers and then send out data to adjust the souroundings apropriatly) to be running on your server all the time. Then each player would need a copy of the game that would run like a single player game but when the player does something that effects another player or the souroundings (eg. dropping a poition)it needs to send that data to the program running on the server. The server then needs to send that data out to all the other players.
