Well I just thought it would be useful.
Programs
---------
Paint Shop Pro-$90-Good for creating almost any image, with tons of endings.(.bmp,.jpg,.dxp,.wmp,.ect......)

Animation Shop-Free with PSP-Good for animating your PSP images. Supports .avi,.gif,.ect.....

Photo Shop-$100 I think-Good for exact imaging.

paint-free with windows-basic imaging. That is all though.

Fireworks-$200-Good for cool looking stuff.

List more, if you want.

Ummm....is db good....

Serif Photoplus 9 - varied price (mine was £30/$55)
Almost as good as photoshop - apart from its a bit unstable (doesn't work well whilst surfing internet etc.). Does 32bit pngs, avi, gif, jpg, compressed bmps etc... has 3d fx builtin [href]www.serif.com[/href]

Any good 3d renderer, personal edition - free - I have cinema 4D personal edition, so I can render characters into 2D sprites - excellent for making people. [href]www.maxon.net[/href]

Movie Maker-free with windows- Good for making effects, and then opening them and changing them in other editors.
