I finally finished this game last night, and I am very pleased with the outcome. While there are some things that I should have added (i.e. CPU enemies, deformable terrain), there are other things that make up for it (10 player capabilities, realtime terrain "shifting", and super-cool patented screen transitions).

Here is a screenie:

And another:

Programming & Music: Jake Jensen (Jeku)
Special Thanks: Spooky

Controls
--------
UP/DOWN to adjust power
LEFT/RIGHT to adjust angle
SPACEBAR to fire the weapon

If you want to move your "vehicle", press CTRL to enter move mode.
Once in move mode, use LEFT/RIGHT to move left and right. When finished
moving, press CTRL once again.

Please note that when you finish moving, it will be the next player's turn.

I hope you enjoy my creation as much as I have had creating it!

I had the flu yesterday and I still worked on the game for about 8 hours

Good luck to the other compo entrants!

P.S. - The full source is included. I haven't gone through it to make it as efficient as it could be due to time constraints -- so be on the lookout for spaghetti galore. Code is not recommended for those with heart problems. View at own risk.

I get runtime 3502 – could not load music at 229.

The game looks good I like your previous work so I cant wait to have a go of this.

Currently re-writing the game and re-doing sprites for 800x600 (was 640x480). This game will get a release soon.

Hmmm... can't imagine why. The file is there. Does your computer support WMA files? What's the speed of your machine? Thanks

I'm even more worried now

Strange – after I run source in Pro the executable disappears on both machines.
I downloaded again to be sure the ist d/l wasn’t corrupt but I still get the same problem.

Anyone else have the same problem? I think Jeku could do with some more feedback on this.

Loads and runs okay here, nice music.

A bit choppy in terms of speed, and when I pressed ESC it got stuck in a loop of fading in "nobody won" then then fired again, then fade in etc.

I do like the atmosphere created by the music though, it's nice

Get 15 new commands, all the date / time commands left out of DBPro for free!

I installed the windows media format 9 series runtime files and everything is ok now. I guess that’s what you get for having an old PC. And I only update my laptop with essential stuff as its not used on the net.

Sorry for the alarm

Hi Jeku,
I also had the music problem that Custard had. The wma files run fine but DB wont open them (neither the supplied exe or from the source)

Anyway I removed the music commands and ran it.

Neat clean presentation, original graphics, oh and I loved the sound FX

Shame you couldn't get the CPU components in but what's there works fine.....and at least this way I can't lose.

Good luck.

Thanks everyone for your generous compliments

I know if many of you are having problems with the music then I should've used MP3z... Looks like Custard discovered that it's because the WMP must be updated before playing. Just hope it works on the judge's machine

Like I said before, this game was pretty much a "rushed job", so I'm glad that you guys still like it.

Did you all notice the realtime terrain shif after a player is killed?
