I was trying to run my game, but the compiler keeps crashing now...can't figure out why. It goes to the black screen, shows the DB loading cursor for a few seconds, then part of the task bar shows up and it crashes with an error message:

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

[EDIT] Ah shoot, I hate it when I make a spelling mistake, especially in the subject title...[/EDIT]

DBPro does this sometimes, but when you click "Don't Send,"
it runs the program anyway. It is known, I think, by TGC...

This is the Dark Basic forum....I'm running Classic. It does it in DarkEdit and the standard program, it is the compiler, not the IDE.

Re-install Dark Basic. The one time, for me, whatever you did, even if you used the built-in IDE, no matter what command lines you passed, it'd always Compile/Execute the same piece of code. even when I deleted the file that code was in, the problem remained.

All problems with DB are fixed with a re-installation and a re-upgrade to 1.13.

Go.

Thanks, I'll try it out and report back...

[Edit]Okay, I uninstalled and reinstalled Dark Basic. No luck. What the heck is wrong here?

No! It will run any program except Firewall!

Does anyone know of a line limit on Dark Basic? Firewall is 11,410 lines...has anyone wrote a program longer than that? Probably, but it was just a possibility.

[EDIT] Okay, I just looked through some stuff that I had recently done to my code, and here is what I did:
-There was a line of array dimensioning that was 249 characters long, I split it in half, on instinct
-Then I ran it and it actually made it through, but pointed out an error, I forgot a comma in a text command

Then it worked! Yay! So I have no idea why it was crashing like that...but at least it works now, that is all I care about

Glad you got it working. I don't know of any other games with that many lines of code, but there probably are a few. The closest I have found is the Magic World source with about 8700 lines.
