Patch 4 almost totally consists of the new 3D engine.

What video codec are you using when you are getting jerky video? You can get better results by using a codec designed for the task you are trying to perform, if you are aiming for TV quality, 25/30 frames per second with audio - then use mpeg.

You will need to package the codec installer along with your finished product. Previously I have made a 320x256 avi with audio, running 15fps for about 5 minutes using Intel Indeo and stretched it to full screen with no apparant quality loos or sync errors on a P800.

I like use MPEG, not AVI. Why? Because it needn't codec at all.

True, but AVI are much smaller than MPEG, When you're try to fit as much data as you can under a limited space, AVI's start looking pretty good. Completely off topic, but I got my new HHD this weekend, 80 gb, or so the box said, why is it that they're allways a few gigs off?

Most companies always state the pre-formatted size unfortunately.

Its always less than that stated because of the creation of the directory, boot sectors etc - the amount depends on the operating system.
