i am planning to make a special forum for each project. If people manage to get a team together then i can give them their own private forum

Im looking for mods on this forum. If it takes off then there will be a free forum on the main page for all people who have a confirmed team and project. Mods will also be used when the forum gets popular. When 25 people have joined i will set up a poll asking for the most popular user. And then they will become a mod. Every 25 new members a new mod will be created

Yes i know. I meant to apologize earlier for that. :`). My plan is to move the forum and build my site on another server without such popups. Hopefully this will be done tonight and i will post this thread when it is. What do you think of the skin i used

Get Popup Killer, you can find it and other popup closing tools at www.cnet.com.

Yes but all users of my forum would have to do that. I am going to be moving on to a .co.uk domain soon so that will mean the forum will be much faster. Any ideas on a domain name i could use!

How about www.darkforum.co.uk

The biggest problem I see for you is that people's immediate port of call after purchasing DB will be here. Still if you work away at it then I'm sure it'll steadily increase in popularity. No doubt the more people purchasing DB the wider demand there'll be for other forums.

Yes you are right. I hope to steadily build popularity. Im not expecting to put my forum up and then 200 users just join on the first day. It has pretty food features though including an instant messenger. I think the idea of giving teams with a project their own forum will increase popularity. If anybody has a team then tell me about it and i will give you a forum once i have confirmed the team. P.S. the popups WILL be gone

Its a nice forum, but I would guess that most people here waste enough time here and at RGT to want yet another forum to trawl. However I do think its a good idea for specific team discussions etc. Good luck

I agree. There are too many forums out there which specialize in dbpro. I was hoping the dbpro media exchange and the idea of password protected team forums would draw people to my site.

i don't use Ad Killers because they actually ban alot of valid user sites too ... suchas Geocities and Tripod
not the complete site, but usually stops the code when the ad pops up making it impossible to get files and such.

Annoying when your researching something like Zelda, going to get the music and get a message "Norton has detected unauthorised popups"
Which kinda defeats the point getting a popup to tell you its getting popups no?
Usually why i just turn the stupid thing off and use the standard Firewall features

The forum will run without popups later today hopefully. I will post a new link in this thread once it does. I am going to add forums about programming in specific genres e.g. there will be a forum relating to fps, rpgs, platformers e.g. so people can find out what they need much easier

Raven, I use Popup Killer 1.45.2, and I can choose to exclude some popups from being closed, It's worked for me just fine for the last year. This forum keeps me busy enough as is, I don't need another one. Although a form that lets you skip to the last post you read would be nice.
