I'm just going to come right out and say it. I hate people who sign their posts. All of them. It's stupid, redundant, egotistical, insulting, and I don't even know what else. About 3/4 of the people on this forum do it. There's no reason to. I know who you are. I can see your avatar, your name, your signature, and the links to your personal information.

*whew* Sorry, just had to vent.

But just to make sure you know who I am (in case anyone could be that blind):

Philip,

Reading this latest thread of sillyness from you has cost me much time...

Time which would have gone on building my latest doomsday device. I hope you are happy that it wont be ready for ages now, since this thread has also melted my brain.

Everyone does it though, that's what a signature is for... signing your posts.

But people don't put it in their signature.

They manually type it at the end.

Might have something to do with the fact that we can only have 2 carriage returns.

Yes, because as I explained at tedious length in a certain Guide, there is no such thing as a point. There is only a relative vector.

Rich changed that ages ago, now it's a 200 character limit.

Check again, you can actually have 3, but any more and an error message will appear saying you can only have 2.

Note that this is in addition to the 200 char limit.

Must've changed it back again.. It was abolished when the character limit when in, i remember that much. That said I've been using the same signature for ages, remade it so that I could just change images instead of the sig.

Oooh-arr, I remember back in the olden days of Ye DarkBasice Forume, I hade one of them 'Red Folder' thingummies, and it was entitled in the rightful way:

'Wut would u like in DB1.14?'

Which got closed by an EVIL mod who confirmed that there would be no DB1.14... sad really...

I honestly hate the standard set of forum avatars. I usually recognize people through their avatars, and it annoys me to think it was some person who posted when it was a different person who actually posted it. Come on people, use unique avatars.

And I don't like usernames that end with corporate words like Company/Software/Administrator/Manager/Team/Productions/etc. There's really just no point to it.

And I like CR's old avatar better.

Edit: And some people, after a nice long rant/flame, still end their post with "Cheers, xxx"

While I do not disapprove of this or any other pointless thread in General Chat, why are threads like this locked http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=45105&b=2 and this one not. They both have the same pointlessness to them. I do not care either way.

I can't bear this thread any longer. I think it was a bit of a boo-boo that Philip posted it and thought he was smarter than the average bear. He should go back to Jellystone, nick a few pic-a-nic baskets and wine and dine Cindy before getting Jiggy with her. Watch out for Ranger Smith though.

Hey, wow, this has turned into a major boost to my general level of cheerfulness to suddenly read all these nice comments about me.

Guys, you're all heroes too!

Lets all group hug!

Philip

PS: I agree on the unique avatar front. I wish our avatars were all unique. There is one other person in the forums who uses Yogi. This even confuses me sometimes. I see the avatar without really focusing on the name and I find myself thinking: "did I write that? I don't recall writing that!"

Of course, I am a bit nuts. That may partly explain it.
