Here is a screenshot of the (unfinished) titlescreen. [Its best viewed in the dark, stretched fullscreen as it has very dark detail in it]

http://www.defiantsoft.servegame.com/images/awakeningscreenshot01.bmp

Hope you like it. Im being held up by my level editor. (I cant seem to drag myself off my playstation!)

Oh well, it'll be ready soon. Oh yeah, the key game music will be written by Aaron Frensley. The guy who wrote the cool music for Duo, Duotris and Mono! I cant wait to hear them!

Oh and in reply to a post above about my level editor, No it's not a photo, it's an actual real time screenshot of a very poor level in my editor.

Keep on working everyone!

I knew it wasn't a photo I was just being nice. I'll be uploading some more screens of the above level now the lighting and collision are fixed. If I can find somehere to host it I'll upload a demo so you can walk round it.
My main menu is nearly finished and I really like it. I'll post a demo of that as well if I can.

A well needed bump.

Part of solving the problem is actually noticing that the problem is there in the first place

Thanks. I'm going to speed up the movement. The speed overall is fine; about 120fps on my machine. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

does it display the fps? i don't remember.
*edit no it doesn't.

the images of the cursor / enter keys have black bits on them. maybe you should alpha fade the images to try and remove them. (Or try in your graphics software)

Sorry. Did I misunderstand? You said April 7 is close on the 9th of April! As I said before, I can upload what I have but I haven't finished, or got particularly close.

It is with great regret that I have to say: I don't think I will finish My entry is not even near completion, and I don't think I will have the time to complete it. I will still try to finish it on time, and if I do manage to complete it, on time or not, you can still have the source to make into a tutorial if you want. Sorry about this, hopefully someone else will be able to finish their entry.

Part of solving the problem is actually noticing that the problem is there in the first place

Ok,
From the looks of it everybody is needing more time. Everybody thats in it that wants a 30 day extension vote one time below this post, state yes or no the majority wins. I think we all want everyone to finish if they can.

I uploaded some screens in a .rar file. There are two folders, one called FPS and one called RPG. Feel free to look at both but as you may have guessed the folder named RPG contains shots of my RPG.

Thanks.
Here is a splash screen I made for the game.
http://www.elbsoftware.dbspot.com/Images/backdrop4.png
Here is a small video showing the combat. The game actually runs at 124fps but fraps slowed it down loads so when you see the video don't worry about speed. I'll try and get a combat demo up soon.

Here is a picture to show I am not totally un-artistic! I screwed up on the eyes but the rest of it is alright. Yes I know he's copyright but this is the sort of style I would have wanted for Tutopia.

[Edit]
I e-mailed you and yes you can show the screenshots and video if you want.

Thanks. I now have another enemy fully animated and into the game. I'm going to try and get a whole level and a boss level ready for the 7th of June. I've made 1200+ lines of code today so if I keep anywhere near that for the rest of the time then I should get it done! Only thing is I'm taking my GCSEs at the moment but I think I can make it.

Today I made an intro movie and NPCs to talk to. Tomorrow I'm going to start on making either the HUD or collectable objects or both. I'll get some screens up soon.

Today I made the HUD and magic effects. I was going to put a trailer movie up but for some reason I can't connect to DBSpot at the moment. It told me my login was incorrect. I'll try another time.

Well I still can't upload the video. I'm now completely happy with the HUD and I've finished modelling the whole first level. I have also added health and mana potions. I'll get some more done tonight.

The first level is done. I'm starting on the boss level now. Once it is finished I'll go back and make sure everything is working and optimised. Anyone got any ideas about the uploading problem?

No one able to help?
Well I've made the start of the boss level. There is a giant cyclops dude with a mace that chases you around and when he gets close enough he takes a swing at you and gets his mace stuck in the floor. You have to run behind him and hit him and then run away before he does his stomp attack. Its a classic, not very original, boss that I've seen in games such a croc. Either way, its quite good.

Andrew,

Sorry I havent got back to you but it looks like there are no more submission crossing the finish line. I need to see the program and make sure it works. We got to do a write up on you post the stuff here and over at our site to. But your the winner unless some one sneaks in here in the next 15 minutes. Im at home on pregnancy leave, they made me quit driving, but that should pose any problems. If your codes good enough, we might have an open position available if your interested. Which country are you in so I can make arrangements to send you the prize? We will start getting together by e-mail tomorrow. It looks like our icons died too, uhmm wonder what happened.

Anyway Congrates,
