Seriously, if you cannot make a matrix by now, after viewing demos and reading the large guide book, then db is probably not for you and you would probably like the FPSC when that comes out.

But I wasted at least 110 dollars on both the program and the book! I can't get my money back!

And I am pumped for FPSC

OK mabey I can make a matrix

but not a textured matrix

I have the texture

wow you must know close to nothing about programming

how bout this, why dont u use gamemaker? its quite a newbish yet ok program. its powerful if you know how to use it. go to www.gamemaker.nl and try it out. i used it like 5 years ago when i was just learning how to program. if you cant use gamemaker, then i suggest that you give up on programming becuz gamemaker is like the uber-newb games creator

(and its free)

Plazmeh, how much programming experience do you have? Can you write simple programs in BASIC? (not nesessarily ones to do with matricies)
Take a look at some tutorials and get to grips with BASIC first.

I used Game Maker for a while. It's pretty powerful, but it doesn't have a whole lot of 3D functions.

Whenever you start a new language it is always hard for a while but it eventually comes to you.

Try the monster hunt tutorial, that intrduces you to pretty simple stuff.

If you are still stuck send me an email and I'll see if I can help you with some things, I haven't been doing DB for long but I can probably explain some things to you to get you started.

Good luck.

I thought 3d was easier than 2d.

I think I can help.

And by the way DarkBaisc isn't really as hard as it looks, after a while you'll be able to read code just like you read anything else.

If you need to, you should start to program in a less powerful language like good old Qbasic. Thats what I started out in.

In some ways it is. For some people it is and some not. 2D is less complicated but 3D is easier to do in DB. And faster.

Don't let life get you down, it will only get better.
