I'm sorry to say that from today for an indefinite period the forum's only bear is going to be conspicuous only for his absence from these fori.

I shall not wax lyrical on all the details, because they are boring. Suffice to say that the last few weeks have not been the most pleasant period of my life. What looked like a promising and excellent relationship with a charming girl has sadly cratered and, together with various tedious issues at work, I want to stand back and reflect on my life for a while.

I also admit to having become significantly less enthralled by the forums of late. This has been caused by the increasing juvenility being displayed by a small and very limited number of members - I found some of the posts regarding the recent Asian Tsunami utterly appalling. Some of the posts which I read lacked basic humanity and really soured my desire to be present here as much as I used to do.

Hopefully I'll return in due course. In the meantime, stay well.

Philip

Yes, not been "like they used to be" of late. Unfortunately, you're increasing the arse:intellect ratio by leaving and dwindling the denominator still further.

Or one with someone elses name on it that he will always be able to steal.

Well, forums are usually the biggest time waster, second only to the IRC chat. So have fun, cya.

He lectured at the UK convention about copyright law and made the vector tutorial. Then there's always the fact that he helps out users in need whenever he can.

I'm a little late, I know, but here I go...

Philip, I'm deeply saddened to hear that you're leaving us. After all you did to improve the comnunity, i.e. vector tutorial, endless jokes, prank threads, etc. This is one person who's sad to see the bear make his final exit. After all, most of the comunity haven't even seen your biggest project (the elite-esque space exploration thingee) I only know of it because he came in teh IRC one night extremely depressed an the like.. Come to think of it.. he mentioned a girl that night too..

funny, how I never thought philip would leave. He was like a permanent feature in teh forumz--like jimmy, only philip was a bear

Anyways, to wrap up a (somewhat) long and (rather) pointless post, I'm sorry you're leaving Maybe I'll make a manamana fan game and dedicate it to Philip
