Are there any other programs similar to darkbasic? I know that you can download graphic libraries with pre written functions, but what about other applications with their own ide and everything?

Well, here's my contribution to the list:

Blitz Basic (I think...),
Click & Play,
DIV Games Studio,
The 3D Games Creator (also by the DB team),
The Games Factory (like C&P but better).

Although, I'd personally recommend DarkBasic. I think BB is the only other contender, but I've never used or seen it, so I can't comment further.

well commenting on two of those in the list, dont expect to make any good games with the games factory or the3dgamescreator, but they are quite kewl just to start and learn with. You cant even sell any games made with T3DGM unless you buy a special liscence, and you have T3DGM logo slapped all over your game just like you used a demo version of db.

I really recommend you use DBP/DB1, there easy enough to learn, and actually create games that people might want to download and play. I cant say anything about BlitzBASIC and Blitz3D, although that ive heard that Blitz3D is alot harder than DBP.

Anyway, whatever you choose have fun
