How do you just place a wall where you want? Every time I try, it creates a room around the area that I have selected. Can somebody help me?!

Choose the segment you want to place. Then go up to the segments menu on the main bar. Click there and go down to paint only walls or paint walls only or something like that (can't rmember the exact name).

Now is the winter of your discontent.

Are you choosing a "wall" segment AND/OR are you using the "paint wall mode" which is key "M" (or page 23 of the manual where it talks excatly how to place walls)
