This is really awesome! Great work!

Is there a way to change the speed of the day/night cycle? If not, that might be a good feature to add.

amazing

i have some suggestions. i think you should be able to switch guns using the mousewheel, sometimes you need to switch fast when fighting the po po

tracers are fine, i like when they are in games, but they are a bit big, and long staying. shouldnt they be almost a line? and very short?

i dont like the way you do ammo. no "reload" makes it sort of cheap. perhaps once the ammo gets to the bottom you press R or it reloads automatically. that is, if i were the programmer.

lastly sometimes ive seen buildings too far above ground. should the bottom of the building be the lowest of any point under the building, instead of just the part you place it at?

Can't play it. I get a "File doesn't exist at line 4526".

Does the game have to be extracted to a specific location?

-EDIT-

Forget it. I unzipped it again and it works now.

Awesome game.
My suggestions:
- Make the bullet plains not be affected by light and fog. That way you won't get a side darker then the other. The plains could also be half as high as they are to look more like a line. And if possible they could always face the camera in its longest axis to give it a bit more volume. Texture them.

- The outline of the trees can be removed with the latest version of DBP.

- I don't know how you are controling the speed of the game but it seems to be too slow. The bullet plains take too long to disapear. People walk slowly and their animation speed doesn't match the walking speed.

That's it for now. Keep up the awesome work.

Take care

Could you make a loader for DBP? I would like to load some of my maps that I have made onto some of my games.

I guess i could edit some code, but i've been working on a completely separate world editor for dbp. Its already got loader source and less strict organistation of the files used in the map is required.

Im also kind of finished with developing I World any further. Its been too long since i did most of the work and the source is just confusing and messy to me now. I may be better off using newton to make a super awesome sequel...

Newton is not that hard to use really, once you get the hang of it, you dont want to program stuff any other way, it keeps track of all your physics issues, no more math codin needed to keep for examples all wheels on the ground, you also get spring and dampers in the wheels and smooth and fast collision detection. Feel free to ask any questions if you have any ! Either here or in the forum @ walaber.com

Great work! This is definitely one of the BEST DBPro games ever . The gameplay is fun, and the graphics are good. The trees and buildings look really nice too. Where did you get those great tree textures?

Keep up the good work

Thanks for the comments

I cant actually remember where i got the tree textures from, sorry.

The cars and people are darkmatter models yes, though some of the people are modified versions of darkmatter (and the 3d game maker) people models. The buildings are all my own creation. some of the textures are darkmatter.

yeah, i did go a bit ott with it, so u need a real good computer to get it runnin smoothly. barely runs ok on mine!

thinkin of makin a stripped down version with simpler graphics/physics etc, (or maybe use newton!) for a more enjoyable game.

It's great to see you continued the work on this game. I remember playing it quite religiously every day in the past. Last week and half or so I started getting back in to DBP and was thinking about this game and whether or not you finished it up. It's downloading now and I can't wait to check it out. Thanks!

I love it. Um hmm, could you help me out with a level editor. I need one for a game I am making. Also, it would be nice if you added in a custom builder for the worlds so you could customize your buildings by adding your own primitives.

This is really fun. Unfortunately after loading and testing a map, then trying to load a new one, I get strange errors when testing it such as the floor not existing when you run it and the weather and particle effects being visible in the editor after exiting.

But you've really done a nice job If a few edges could be smoothed out this could actually be a good commercial project, I considered sucha thing last year, there's certainly a market for these type of games and a user edittable city would do really well.

Anyway, very complete game, well done

thanks for the comments.

I had thought of making this a commercial project, but decided against it. free is way better cos more people get to enjoy it, and realistically no dbp project is really gonna sell.

BTW: I'm planning (in my head) on developing a simpler, but much more complete and well made version, with a more stylised look, instead on developing this version any more.

I've been away on holiday, now im at uni. Got no access to the iWorld files here, (and too much other work to do) so it'll be a while before i do anything more, tho i am keen to upload the files on different sites for more ppl to have access to it.

Yeah, i stopped paying for my website, so its been destroyed.
I dont think im able to continue on iWorld cos its been so long, though i may try and get it hosted by some more sites so people can play it. I do plan on setting up a new website though, once i have time.

I am quite keen to make a simpler version which doesnt try to do too much in terms of physics and graphics, but maybe add storyline functionality and more interactive things so that you can create more interactive worlds. eg; mini games like taxi driving, more vehicle types (planes and helicopters).
Thing is, i have no time these days in between "working", sleeping and socialising (and procrastinating), so it may be a while before u see any development.

You should put that link on the front page, because I almost didn't check the third page to see if there is a new link. Sounds pretty sick, downloading now. Thanks a lot for hosting it Torrey!

i am still here, on and off.
exam term at uni right now so its a bit busy. even busier than it was before. just means i cant do much computer related stuff at the mo.

really cool to see a fansite! i do plan on setting up a more permanent site over the summer, and I may make a new program along similar lines to 'i world', but cooler and faster.

ill contact those of you who want to get in touch with questions.
