I do not know who patented certain inventions, but as I understand it. Alexander Gram Bell, invented the telephone, who was supposidely Scottish.
Same goes for Radio Transmissions, they were a by product of another invention by a Scotsman.

Invented in England, by a young scientist who was part of the Luna Society. It was never patented as his boss did not believe electrical lamps were of any use.

I do not doubt that Candians first patented given inventions, I do question that they invented some of the things you have posted above.
There is a show on UKHistory with the guy who does the Tax Return adverts. Forget the name, but his program goes through all of his Hero's of History. Who are English innovative inventors.
Some really interesting inventions have been made over the years, and discoveries made. While people can patent what many would believe as an original idea to take credit, this does not always indicate who was the original inventor.
