Why are there so many of these posts, ARGH!
I have been using C++ for a while, I can make dlls for dbpro but it's not easy.

And every hour or so some one post's somthing say "How can I make a dll for dbpro!!?!?!"
I bet most of the people that ask, Dont even know how to use dbpro let alone C++ or vb etc etc..

And another thing, you don’t even provide enough information. Maybe if you told us walk you knew, etc etc.. Then Maybe you could get some help.
Sorry if this gets flamed.

DB/DBpro can't compile DLLs. You'll need to use another programming language like Delphi, FreePascal, PowerBasic, PureBasic, C++, C, etc.

well said eddie

another thing - have you looked in the help files under technical documents??? i doubt as it tells you how to write a simple dll there

and next time, before posting, scroll to the bottom of the page and search the forum for the question you have - it would avoid threads like this

dbclassic just doesnt have stringtables so u would have to use call dll(or whatever the equivelant is in dbc)

Wich is a pain in the arse , + Globalstruct etc for pro. Thats why I make them for pro not classic. Theres just not enough support for DBC dll's

dbc will not be able to use dlls out of the box - you need the enhancement pack, then you get call dll

you might be able to use FASM to make a DLL ...
then, all you need do is find a way to translate DBC code
to ASM, save it to a file, then call FASM with that file name.

should not take more than a few months

A faster way would be to hire someone to write your custom DLL
for you. Simple DLLs might be free (wrappers to windows API calls)
while a complete plug-in would most likely cost depending on the
details of the call. Such as a UDP lib, FTP with multithread support, and so on.

@waffle
that didnt really make sense but anyway

yes there are already many dll's out there for u to use so u wont have to write your own

btw i have also made 1 and an wip of another(one made in C++ and returns strings now)

You could use languages like C, C++, or VB.net to create a DLL. But DarkBASIC only makes EXEs.

Is there a reason you keep resurrecting dead threads? Or is it just a hobby?

a good tip is to not post more than 2 pages deep in very active forums(general and darkbasic pro) and only the first page on everything else

n00bs will be shot on spot...
It only gets more logical from here(sigh)

Of course it is... He couldn't possibly...

*whoosh*...hey what was that... *whoosh...crack*...that hurts... *bubububububububub*... HELP...NO.

Some threads are still active even though 2 pages deep. They are laid to rest for a while while other things happen.
