Ive been making this over the last couple of days for my Visual Communication & Design Class. Its not finished, but I decided to post it to see what people think. Due to a problem at school, I have not been able to do any work on this at school, so its all done at home when i have time.

Sorry about having so much pictures, I just felt like I needed to have that many to do justice.

Any C&C would be appreciated.

that a trueSpace render?
Well the only real problems I see from here are the materials, they have quite unrealistic appearances.

tweak with them a bit to get them nicely, perhaps alter some normals of like the tuner tabs so they don't looks perfectly smooth all over.

the overall shape and design though is pretty good.

Well I kinda liked the materials. Once I add some lighting and maybe a background(and also a few extras on the guitar), it will be complete. The shaders and various effects im using on the materials are all new to me. I've only recently upgraded to 3ds Max 6, so the HDR materials will need a lot of tweaking to get the reflections looking real. I kinda rushed the Headstock, meh.

nah, actually, the toggle switch looks fine. its me thats wrong.

i think you need some classic les paul inlays now and it'll be top class.

Seppuku Geijutsu....Explorer cool! but James hetfield has started to use the ESP models more now, and his new ESP signature truckster les paul.

Trying is the first step towards failure.

well, the best thing for decent guitars is what style is played, we can't have Britney Spears played on a les paul, its herecy lol, but playing something really awesome like, I dunno a Trivium(Heavy metal band) solo, or the solo in Stair way to Heaven.

So what do you guys play on your Guitar

Me;
Rock- Cream, Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin, White Stripes
Metal: Metallica, my own stuff(Some similar to Isis if you've heard of that) Marilyn Manson
Punk: Sum 41, blink 182 (The good stuff not the new crap

BTW, I just wanted to add that James Hetfield didn't just start using ESP. Back in the day that's all they used, both Hetfield and Kirk Hammit. So it's not a new trend he's on.

Always loved Hammits ESP cutom skull'n'crossbones inlay.

@andrew neale,
Kramer was well hell of a sweet guitar in it's day. It's a shame what happened to them.

Don't worry, I'm still jamming on my Ibanez RG560. LOL

If I had some money I'd get something better! I mostly play my own stuff with my band. We do the occasional cover: Plug in baby, Turning Japanese etc. We even did Monster Mash for some reason!

I think it Looks great. The only little thing I can see that is kinda off would be the volume and tone adjusters they seem a little too shiny and it Kind of makes em look out of place. But even with that its amazing. Yeah I play and Ibanez too, but I make up for it with my amp I have a 400 Watt b-52 halfstack.
Good Bands:
Dream Theater
Megadeth
Metallica
Trivium ( I thought they were hardcore not metal.MetalCore lol)
Blind Guardian
Iced Earth

Keep it up

Yeah, there is way to many genres, list continued:

?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫

Acid rock
Alternative
Gothic Metal
Grunge
Progressive Rock
Psychedelic Rock
Reggae
MetalCore
RapCore(I'm serious lol)

?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫?ô♫

All I know is that I can't stand emo, ugh. It seems that a lot of people like AC/DC. I had this kid named Jason that was in my 2nd hour, and all he would do is tell me how much he loved Ac/Dc. After living with that for a good 90 days, I came to hate them, and I've only heard 2 songs from them, Highway to Hell, and Hell's Bell's. Seems like they must be a bit upsessed with Hell or something but thats just my opinion. Oh, and I haven't heard of those two bands you were talking about, are they hardcore?

I know the feeling, I used to think Queen was okay and in the days before my 5th year of primary school all I had was Queen, Jimi Hendrix, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin, Gary Moore, Guns and Roses and Eric Clapton. And well I am an ex queen fan, why? Because the most annoying person on the face of the planet is obsessed, sings it all their songs, and drives me nuts with queen. Luckily its no loss thanks my brother to showing me Metallica and Marilyn manson when I was 9/10 years old.

Those are great bands that Seppuku Geijutsu and Odysseus named off.

I dont really like AC/DC or Queen either!

@andrew neale: It could of been a typo or a spelling error. Cause I think he knew what word he was looking for.

Yeah its so annoying. I'm sure the band is pretty good but I can't stand listening to em cuz of Jason. It gets worse too. This kid has a really high pitch voice and plays the drums, he thinks he can sing. So I'll be sittin here and he'll start trying to sing it while playing the drums with his feet for a bass and his hands against his legs for the snare n toms. Its so embarassing when he sings to because it sounds like a rat dying, or possibly dying. But anyway, yeah I was never a big fan of Queen.

Metallica used to be my favorite band until they released St. Anger. I used to listen to all their old stuff like Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning, Kill em' All, and all the other great cd's that came before the Black Album. Then they let out that horrible cd Load. It would have been a great album if it wasn't released by Metallica, but the fact that they could've done so much better makes me not like the album. So basically St. Anger, load, reload, and S&M were the biggest flops as far as Metallica goes. I still listen to there old stuff all the time.

Did you say Jason, the other kid who ruins my songs is also called Jason (The queen dude is Jonathon) , he'd sing guns and roses, Eric Clapton, Tenacious D(don't link really anyway, but I can't stand them now) he's even ruined the Team America theme tune and the team America speech abouts D's, P's and A's and the everybody has Aids. He is also THE most annoying person on the planet along with the guy who made it so that I can't stand queen instead of put up with it....why do people like them make us suffer so much, I ought to whack them one. (One goes to the same Karate dojo, get him in freestyle? He's useless he'd have no chance against me lol)

Well one day Jason was pissin me off right before spanish class so I may have, just a little bit, accidentally have chucked him about 5 feet into a wall. He was mad at me for about 20 minutes before he started babbling on about Ac/Dc and pink floyd in such. That kid is E-V-I-L.

Lol are you serious, it must be the name Jason that makes kids annoying. *note to self/others, dont name your kid Jason.* luckily my name is Mason, instead of Jason. Just one letter off from being an annoying little fag.

Quote: "He's useless he'd have no chance against me lol)"

Lol, same goes with the kid I'm talking about. He weighs about 100 pounds lol.

Well monday my friend nick said 'Hey Bryn are you in all day tomorrow before the maths exam' Me - 'Yeh, wanna meet in the IT room so we can revise till the exam'

didn't turn up, the only other people in the IT room, were to of the most annoying people in the year (not including Jason) these were 2 Jonathons, absolutely evilness, yes I got he talks about queen, how my music isn't real music, because music has singing in, and basicly words flew out of their rear end.......and Nick left me with them, Nick is good at handling the fat one, I am good at handling the tall one, nope I suffered 3/4 hours of them.

The most annoying people names are Jason and Jonathon

Don't forget that the last 3-4 strings are wound, so they shouldn't be smooth. And remove the bump map from the pickguard, that should be smooth. (aside from surface scratches)
Overall I think it looks great.

I never cared for Gibsons myself, I prefer my custom made Carvin.

@ BenD

Sure does, hence the ebay comment

People sell air guitars on ebay, there was one that was sent by Air mail, other telepathy, some came in any design you wanted, some were on special offer and came with a free air drum kit, pretty cool eh? Some were really rare ones too, might be a sucker and buy one
