Goodmorning,

I am 42 years old and have been very happily married for almost 20 years...I have teenage
daughters.
I've been working in Stage Lighting all my adult life... This work gives me much free time.
Time I always filled creatively, writing and recording music, making short films and music
videos, opening internet sites .... things like that ...Oh yes! ... Plenty of good, healthy
sex.

A year ago, the urge to control objects on the screen led me to DarkBasic ....Man it's
BRILLIANT .... But, IT'S KILLED MY SEX DRIVE.

I'd like to hear from you ... "THE SCRIPTORS" ..

AM I ALONE ?

NB. I'm serious ...

regards,
miki

LOL.. Why are people so worried about their sex drives?

I'm a teenage boy and mine is extremely low and I still have a happy life...

I mean yea.. I still enjoy looking at the ladies (especially the ones in miniskurts) but that's about all.. but I'm extremely shy around girls..

I'll probably be single all of my life... girls don't like me anyways.. LOL

Peace

I don't see many people talking about their sex life on these forums anyway! You should actually stop!

This thread is 100% spam.

If you've got a problem, give up DarkBasic.

Honestly, I'm going to start limiting myself to only reading threads which appear to either: (1) have a substantive point in them; or (2) are started by one of the sensible forum users.

And please do the same back.

There's nothing wrong with this thread. All sorts of randomness gets posted here.

This hasn't even degenerated into a flamewar like such 'enlightened' topics as politics and religion usually do...

hhmmm,

i realize the topic heading is a tad strong ...
i apologise for being a sun journalist ...

i didn't see anything so wrong in adding a link to a game ...
and as i already said ... my original question was sincere ...

as you can see i have edited the original post to an apology ...
it upset too many people, too quickley ...

i'd like to re-edit the original topic for i do feel there is a
discussion for sensible users .. but will not 'till i recieve a vote of confidence.

asking too much,
miki.

Well according to the age of the population of this forum, I know a great test you could do :
Post a picture of your teenage daughter, then you'll see the reactions.

"Breaking News DarkBASIC Causes Low Sex Drive In Middle-Aged Men"

Sounds more like a topic News24 would run actually heh
All you need is some doctor waffling on about how this is actually something quite common-place.

I don't think DarkBASIC is the cause of the problem per'say, but more like the catalyst. It might've just been people that I know but generally as they get older the pazzaz does kinda go out of the relationship, particularly after they've had kids for a while.

If it wasn't DarkBASIC then it could've just as eaasily been that 'build a car in your garage' project on Discover Home and Leisure. Personally I think it's more a case that after so long things aren't quite the same as before.

It definately something I noticed when I was in a substancially long relationship, the a few years of 'woohoo! nookie' but over time it slowly dies out and other things seems to take it's place being more interesting and new.

Nowt strange, wrong or new about it really. Just a case of knowing it's about time to ship off your daughter to one of her friends for the weekend and take a nice break. ^_^

I have drives C: to F:. I also map a drive to my laptop as Z:
Sorry, I don't have any other drives, so I havent encountered a problem.

Have you tried downloading the latest drivers? Or seek professional guidance if your not used to applying enhancements yourself.

I don't think you can blame DB, it's only software, shouldn't mess with your hardware.

Maybe if you fiddle with it, you'll get a good connection and it will spring back into life.

There's nowt wrong with being with the same girl, but after a while it does loose that sparkle where you feel you need to be at it more than rabbits.

Miki,

I really doubt its DarkBasics fault but If you think thats why things arent as "alive" then you should take a few breaks and go over to your wife and make her feel and especially you feel like shes more important than anything else. Than one day take a whole break and take her out to dinner or vaction. Find a romantic setting. Then work your magic like you once did before DB.

Hope I Helped,

generally,

I think there is a misunderstanding.

i'm quite fine ...

i'm just guarenteed to say 'not tonight josaphine'
if i'm getting to grips with sequential file access ...

making a perfect head on 3dmax didn't do that ...

I can see how programming would be a turn off. It's about as far distanced from sex as is humanly possible. It hasn't killed off my sex life though. I must admit, if my girlfriend is up for it and I'm in the middle of making a game, it doesn't exactly seemlessly transition from one to the other.

What you need to do is build up your db skills, then think of ways of putting sex into your games (I want to see more of that!). That'll keep your mind firmly in the ball park you're talking about, and in turn lead to much more attention for your wife at night time .... or breakfast time ... etc.

but my direct family see my 'art' ...
this has always censored me ....
just for statistical purposes:
in 200 recorded songs,
50 short animations and music clips,
thousands of images,
thousands of 3d models .. whatever ...

there's nothing dodgy ...

i'm sure to get a slamming for the stats....
but i'm an oldish man...

anyhow, you get the picture,

I'm trully sorry ... I normally post on the darkbasic discussion forum, I didn't think the users were so young ... you are right to be cross .. I assure you in future I will be more carefull ..

I don't think you should be on a darkbasic forum at school son! Get on with your algebra and all that bizness!

I can't believe the mere mention of the word "sex" stirs up such responses. If you're young and you're not worldly, ignore it, or read it and learn. There's nothing even slightly harmful here, and if there was the mods would lock it.

The more sketchy you are about the subject, the more you supress and demonise the subject rather than placate it. Not that I think we should discuss it here - just the mention of it should be as menial as talking about drinking, or smoking, or gambling etc. Adult subjects, not really for kids, but not dangerous to their ears when kept to a minimum.

hehe. Ok, that rant should've given my ebay items enough time to finish up. Off to pay.

Edit: That wasn't directed at you Young Programmer (only the first line was). It was just a general rant.

don't like those minor compile errors

If you doing something day-in day-out, then eventually you get use to it.

I mean it's like Blueberry Pie... god I LOVE Blueberry Pie, and when I have it; it takes special. Simply because I don't have it everyday. A friend cooks me a Blueberry Pie once a year, and well that's the only time I ever have it. To me that is a far more enjoyable feeling, the anticipation knowing it's comming, the pie itself and then the afterwards of remenising over the pie.

When your in a long term relationship; it's the exact same deal.
Although you don't usually get a blueberry beard around your mouth with sex... although that does all depend on what your doing. ^_^
