First off my system...

2.4Ghz P4, 512MB DDR RAM, GeForce4 ti4600 (latest drivers)
and DX9 installed

I'm messing with the Demo version of DBP thinking about buying it...

First off the FaceDemo that comes with DBP doesn't work.. Crashes with an Illegal Op. Same thing happened when I was going through the 3d Game Tutorials at http://www.darkbasic.com/create/bm_tutorials/

I've pinpointed it to something added in Tutorial 7

1-6 run fine

In 7 I did some messing around and found that something to do with attaching the limb must glitch it up

Because if i dont attach the ship to the limb it works... if I do it gives Illegal Op... Now I also tried leaving the attachment in and commenting out the rest of the prog... That seemed to work

So I believe it's something that is done with the attached limb that causes the problem...

I'd appriciate any incite into this problem.. Thanks

Yes, the Face demo does on mine until a line is removed, unfortunately I cant remember which one (its something to do with lighting) - something which my graphics card doesn't have.

Good news everyone! I really am THAT good...

The SET REFLECTION SHADING ON command doesn't work under DirectX 9 under DBP Demo & Patch 3.1. It is definately fixed in Patch 4 though.

NOBODY has a forum name as stupid as Darth Shader. I do.

Try reinstalling DBPro. I had some error a while ago.
Every single one of the demos comming with DBPro told me that it could'nt load image at a specified line. After reinstalling windows (because of a haddisk failure), installing all of the same drivers and reinstalling DBPro again everything worked. In both cases DBPro was patched with patch 3.1.

Well that fixed the FaceDemo... But it still doesnt solve my problem with 3D Game Tutorials....

I've further investigated the problem and noted the following...

When I can successfully load the ship model and display it... I can successfully move the camera when it is following the hidden cube. however if I try to glue the model to the cube (before its hidden) the program will crash if anything is done to the limb in terms of rotation and movement.

So moving a hidden limb with an attached object seems to cause this problem. Does anyone know of such a bug and/or fix?
