My question is: can darkbasic make games that cross barriers like a game that takes you from flying a ship in space to landing on a planet and walking around in a 3d interactive world? Or a game that goes from 2d to 3d in the style of games like Ultma? Thanks for any info.

That's like asking if Word can suddenly jump from you writing and English phrase to a German one or something - of course it can, if you can write German. Same goes for DB - yes it can "cross barriers" if your code can make it happen. It's not going to do it for you though.

Cheers,

Rich
