this is looking great.
do you have a day/night cycle? it looks like so from what i see on the screenshots.

just a tip, when its night time you might want to change the fog color to something darker

keep up the good work.

thanks perople!

- working on combat system at the moment. Like chat system but combat will be automnomouse, using the popup menu to selects attacks , turn-based style

-@ Lukas W: yes there is a full day/night cycle with sun and moon (though you can't see unless in FP mode ). Also, i did have the fog change colour but its not calculates very accuratley as it turns to purple at night (will sort it out though)

- Seppuku Geijutsu: lol - was it the critically acclaimed work of gogetaX by any chance? I wanted to try that

- gogetaX: i orginally had the mouse as both for moving the player (point and click) as well as the pop-up menu (for commands) but decided to use w,a,s,d for movement, arrowkeys for camera and RMB for commands still - more comfortable and less not buggy

- Alkaline: cheers, i'll bear that in mind when i write the option code

- The admiral & Slayer93: ta!

working feverishly hard at the moment to distract attention from the release of A-level exams results tomorrow . More progress soon!

Nope, I haven't downloaded any of gogetaX's recently, I was talking about 'thang global' some crappy mmorpg, I was looking for free MMORPGs, and well that made me think, I'll stick with Kal Online until I decide to buy Guild Wars

good thing you guys arent talking about other stuff besides his game My computer sucks just as bad as Seppuku Geijutsu's, i bought it last year for about $300 I had to play half-life 2 and americas army on all of the lowest settings(that sucked)

My interests are World-Domination, Absoute Power and moonlit walks on the beach.

Hey my 9800 is 128mb and it runs all my games nicely. (Although my most recent game is only Star Wars Battlefront. But I can run that on the highest detail settings!)

I'm guessing the 9600 isn't much differant, makes me happy I'm getting one Hopefully my ronin engine will run smoothly and Cinema 4D will be able to edit my sephiroth model with out it going loopy

eep off topic

-well, it all sounds like you all have decent gfx cards, just as well cuz i ran the game on a radeon x700 pro and runs nice and smooth at 100fps.

-i may have a demo out in a few weeks - no that the nerves are over i can carry onwith the battle system!

just one question to people, what kind of FPS on average would a Radeon 9600 run at, I'm lucky to get above 20 on my geforce 2.

Congrats, I'll get my GCSE results next week, but I'll be on holiday then, so the week after. So ever since the exams everytime I've said to my Dad 'i'm not stupid' he says, we'll see on the 25th Aug, so I wanna shove it in his, although he's playing about but still

i have a radeon 9600xt 256mb and it runs most DBP/C based games that i have played smoothly around 70-90 fps. i think i got 30 fps on a game once but if i rember correctly the guy had way to many polys in the first place and most people were complaing..

Ta!

That's entirely not true.. It is pointless to pay the extra money to get a 256mb video card at this point in time. It hardly helps screenrates or performance for ANY game out there right now. Notice how i said the word -hardly- and not -doesnt help at all-.

I have a radeon 9800PRO 128mb, and it's been able to handle anything i've thrown at it so far.

well, with a gfx card of 256mb expect around 100fps all the time as mine is radeon x700 256mb and the game does contain a fair amount of poly's.

Quote: "Congrats, I'll get my GCSE results next week, but I'll be on holiday then, so the week after. So ever since the exams everytime I've said to my Dad 'i'm not stupid' he says, we'll see on the 25th Aug, so I wanna shove it in his, although he's playing about but still "

-ah yes it winds u up doesn't it! my dad was the same, he doesn't say anything to me now cuz my a-level reesults were better than his lol

- more progress to come later today - may finish full battle system impolementation - screeny soon!

- in regard to all who want to see a demo before 'few' weeks can expect to see on around the end of August so in actaul fact it is a two week wait, i'm now workingn hard to construct the 'game' elements now before then

GogetaX: No all he's saying is that having a 256mb GFX card now isn't really going to make much of a difference in todays games because they have not reached that level yet. When games begin using higher-ers models, textures and special effects thats when you will see a difference.

what will happen in another 4 years?
mabye there will b some greate game that only radeon 9800:256MB (as minimum require) will work, and 9800:128MB will b too slow..

Kinda, mind you we wind each other up

Quote: " well, with a gfx card of 256mb expect around 100fps all the time"

cool, I could do with that, just as well its a 256, but the memory size doesn't make much of a differant, I thought it was the speed

@Gogeta, well in 4 years yes games will require more memory, but you may notice how cheap 256mb cards are, so well, all you need to do is buy one, see my card is dated, so I update it, thats what people will do when they go 256mb required

Seriously, please stop going off-topic like this.

I think I'm gona go discuss those new Nike shoes in that Morning online game thread.

Or argue that Michel Jakson should sentanced to death for his plastic surgery crimes in a certain Ronin samurai thread.

Soz dude, its to easy to go off topic........so....well um, go ahead, talking about Micheal Jackson and Plastic surgery in the Ronin thread would be funny well um good to know I am likely to get 100FPS on this game when I get my new card, so well may as well bugger off until updates

well...

@Dom: thats NO excuse for off topic discussions as im sure any mod will agree with, and anyway, i think i'm one of the only WIP postees to make considerable posts on updates in reletively short spaces of time (not saying that no one else doesn't do this...just backing up my own cornder)

But before i go too deep i'll post some new screens. Login is fully working and rquires the user to create a new accoutn proir to logging on. I've also got music in-game now (altough screens don't show this). Ive also nearly finished the battle system (just need to do special fx!)
