Just for me anyway I just got broadband, which is excellent as I can download and upload stuff way faster, but... Since I am now not using freeserve, they wont let me use my webspace so I cannot update my site, which is pretty crap. Does anyone know a good FREE service which has quite a lot of webspace (10MB+) and not too many pop ups?

Thanks!

Ummm, that webhosting company, netfirms, claims that you can get a domain name for free but if you look carefully above the main entry form it says you have to pay $25 a year for it still, thanks everyone but Ill use the lycos service.

It'll be better if you went with, say, Nildram, to get your internet connect + web space...

angelfire
20 megs
no file size limit
host picture
host avatars
1 banner add at the top of every pages - use adwiper on the browser side and it wont show
1 popup when the home page is opened - don't use a /index.htm and avoid this one
free
upgradable
cheap upgrades for more space with no adds

only thing I/m not sure what the bandwith is, but I host many pictures and files from one angelfire site and havn't yet hit the bandwith cap.

can't hotlink nor external picture link from Angelfire or GeoCities (not alot of free site can)

if you add Quake content you can always ask for Quakeplanet to host it
or theres one called NeoSites ... try to find the link, they actually give professional hosting for free - but your site has to be voted in.

Mine were always rejected a few years back cause of "copyright" conserns - mainly due to some Half-Life content back when i was developing Day Of Defeat VRML
