First Off
Before we start adding small additional themes the current ones should be added to first.
The two themes given aren't that extensive and it's already hard to give levels their uniqueness and style. So a after 10 levels things start getting old. Therefore, doubling or tripling the size of the first two themes would be the first step. This could be easily done by diversifying simple objects that already exist. By altering a little in various places it'll give it a completely different look without much work.
1) Increasing current themes
A)
Sci-fi- rooms, corriders, switches, posters, light fixtures, weapons, furniture, structures, gadgets, items, people
a. rounded corners(rooms)
1.tight round corners (that way four can be
placed in one square to make a small, smooth pillar, also helps make hallways)
2.corners that coincide with "low", "Mid" and "top" rooms instead of just full
b. ton's more computers and moniters, screens, cameras, work stations(sci-fi buildings should be teeming with a wide array of different stations, computers, testing facilities, and much more. It gets so monotonous with the same technology everywhere)
c. Furniture, switches, posters(alot more)
1. if traveling from planet to planet or from one base to the next. It seems highly unlikely that they will all have the same furniture
2. Alter furniture, switches that exist to have similar but differnt styles. (Imagine 30 different cultures all trying to make the same thing(a stool for example) Each culture will come up with similar basic design but they all can look considerably different. different number of legs, angle of legs, stool hight, seat shape. Theres tones of little things you can change to make it unique)
d. weapons- there should be alot more, 12 AT LEAST!, variety gives uniqueness(considering the physics system, a grapple gun would be nice). With a plethora of weapons everyone doesnt have to use the same 6 guns(that is of course if u only use the theme which is pretty logical. unless your plot call for WWII and Sci-Fi stuff)more individuality of the users game.
e. Posters
1. all different numbers from 1 to 1000 and different labels to put on it like "Hanger", "Sector", "Bay"," Area", "Lab","Passage" "Corrider", "Exit", "Entrance", "Storage" ( i know some of the labels exist. There should be a blank sign you can place on a wall, then right click and modify it by selecting a word and a number. It will Then appear on the applied poster. perhaps signs you can type what ever words you want on it (with font and color options)and the sign's size could be modified to add more words)
f. (ROOMS)Wall depth- make some stuff protrude like half pillars or cracked walls, pipes, burst pipes, vent with a broken door, broken door static door, broken dynamic doors that twitch or open and shut or spark (stylize it more)
g. (ROOMS)Wall Colors- paint option(not "floor seg", "wall seg", "all seg")but color, it could be under Editing, Wall Color or Floor Color or All Color, then a little window could pop up with a sliding bar that would change the color, similar to the color changer in "Paint", but much more simple)
h. More enemies (sci-fi creatures, monsters, aliens, note: not all 2 legged, infact half or more should be tripetal(3 legs), quadrapetal(4 legs), hexpetal(6 legs). nonpetal(9 legs), or perhaps centipede like things that have hundreds of "sprite" legs or an animated texture that just sways to give the appearance of many moving legs, or perhaps slug like creature or robot on wheels or like wheelchair alien that rolls or hovers)
B)
WWII-rooms(russian, italian, french, British, American, German, japanese), corriders, switches, posters, light fixtures, weapons, furniture(russian, italian, french, British, American, German, japanese), structures, gadgets(WWII paraphernalia of course), items
Basically same additions to the WWII theme except ones that pertain to its genre and Era and cultures participating in the war, more WWII technology, furniture and rooms that exemplify its time and different cultures. This will make levels seem much more diverse
-soldier zombies(there were alot of experiments on jewish subjects,)
-more soldier types
2)Current day mod packs
war, SWAT, state of the art( i know know some current stuff that exists)
StateOfTheArt) laptop gun, remote control centry, a large "maching gun looking" gun that emitts a super low frequency at a 200 yrd range (50 yrd lethal) scrambles organs at close range and makes people pass out or throw up at further distances, chameleon suit(blend into invoronment) nearly lethal stun gun (looks awsome,it was in Popular science) it could also be the latest version of certain weapons or james bond like equipment
3)horror--> this can tie into any of the themes however it would have to have a horror-fied version of each theme
example
sci-fi horror rooms
WWII horror rooms
current horror rooms
it should be a sub section of each theme. And also have its own individual theme thats more elaborate and stylized than the sub theme. Therefore it could be used as a stand alone theme.
4) SUBFUTURE
Human Technology 100 years in the future- i have ideas for this, but i'll post later if anyone wants to hear what i think it would be like. I'm sure you can dream up tons of stuff.
I will elaborate more on anything that is unclear in my list.JUST ask.
P.S. sorry, i couldnt help but post 4
