Hi, is there any .bsp editor that actually exports bsp file format. (i tried QuArk and other programs like this but they only open this format).
Or even beter if there any plugins for 3D Studio MAX or LightWave to export .bsp.
If you know of any please help.

Well, Quark compiles a map into a bsp file, it's just a matter of setting the configuration properly -what at the beginning is a bit confusing.

However, if you have Quake III then you can also use gmax (sort of "free" 3DS Max 4 version w/o a render engine) and download the "tempest" package so as to export a map file -or even better, you can directly compile it within tempest if you have installed q3radiant on your machine.

The main problem with gmax is that it's not that "free" if you're planning to create a commercial game.

deathAngel - the reason no editor will "Save As BSP" is that BSP are files compiled. It can take hours for the compiler to turn your map into a BSP file if the map is complex - so this is why you can't see an "export" option. Instead look for a "compile" one. Quark will compile to BSP if set-up correctly (there are lots of tutorials around the 'net, I'd start printing some out to be honest, it's not an easy area to just jump into and expect to work).

Cheers,

Rich

No editor compiles a BSP. They export a map file, then they execute Valve's, Zoner's or iD's (depending of course on the type of map) compile tools. The map file is then sent through CSG, BSP, VIS and RAD. Then it comes out as a BSP. So no, you cannot save a bsp, but you could save a map file, if you want to write a program to do that.
