Anyone else think a community 'chatroom' would suffice?

I mean even a channel on slashnet.org.

I would set one up but i dont have a shell at the moment so i cant run an 'eggdrop' on the room.(to keep it safe/open)

Anyone interested/not ,why?

P.S

I know that i might not get used much but would be good for
DCC and the like for IRC client users amongst us i.e mIRC.

Swapping/negotiating code etc. (without everyone else gaining it)

what do u think?

If someone can find me a good host that will provide IRC channel support then I'll set it up. I guess I could run eggdrop on the server but I'd rather not, there must be companies out there that do this for you.

there have been alot of these from what i've seen... and they've never been greatly popular - shame, but really don't see the point in something that time and time again people don't use
