Hi All,

I am making a city pack for fpsc and would like to hear your ideas. I have added a quick screen shot of a simple section.

The pack will include:

full road system
dead ends
blue glass building
town hall
drug store
gun mart
derelict building
4 X cars
1 x motorbike
road cones
street lamps
car park
police station
gas station
hotel
travel agents
general store
bars
6 styles of building
car showroom

I will offer this lot free to any one that can make a fully fpsc intergrated set of charaters (total of 3) for me, to include the animation, scripting ect.

If you want any other stuff just ask. I have not finished the pack yet and don't anticipate to finnish for a few more weeks.

cheers

Looks great Carlito!

I had an idea sorta like that years ago. (but not for FPSC)
Only each person did a Different City to Compose a Full Map when all assembled.
Each City would be an emulation of a real one.
With the limitations in the size of your Maps in FPSC, the idea would instead be blocks.
Whereas each person makes a replica of a block, and then the entire city is built.
Well, at least 50 blocks if each were a single level.

If such a City, even imaginary, were made in FPSC then we would have to all agree on standards.
Like whether we drive on the left or right side of the road.
Then the steets would all match, if you all used the same pack for the streets.
Then each person would be showcasing their buildings, and everything would flow.
The City would be as unique as the sum of all its creators.
I think that would be better than one city planner alone.

Good Idea BIG Computer Geek.

crow34, please finish yours, because:

We all can affords yours, but it seems like not everyone may be able to afford this one.....

Anyway, this one looks great too and I love to see both of them released!

FPSC is way to cool, you can create even more then a fps with it!

i agree. we would have to agree standards. but it is possible. and the amount of media that could be made is very intresting.

instead of one or two road systems we could all have access to 100's maybe more. Why should we limit ourselves on one city. I'd like to see enough material to enable anyone to recreate any city they wanted.

But yes a minimum visual standard is a MUST so far as long as the tga file is no bigger that 500k the game play is not affected, oh and im using a crappy celron cpu, with low mem and a graphics card which should be retired!!

There are 100's of royalty free photo sites out there where you can download and use in your models (please read the licence before) + the 1000's of free meshes.

Cheers

Yeah, and don't forget a Digital Camera is one too.

I was thinking of one city being built.
You would want the streets to be the same for a single city.
Yeah, more cities is better, but I was thinking one at a time.
A set standard for each different City.

Me too! I can model many things (buildings, castles, planes, vehicles and so on), but I just can model humans or any other lifeforms at all. I'm no good at organic modeling at all, guess my technical education is in the way, I'm to abstract....

I would model humans etc, but I don't have any way to animate it in that 3DS bitmap stuff.
So, they would end up being a Statue.

But we're getting sidetracked....Nice work Carlito!

Awesome!

Are you packaging this for sale or will it be free?

If you are in need of textures for buildings, I have 3 CDs full from Marlin Studios. I purchased them awhile back when I was doing walk-thrus of crime scenes.

There are tons of signs, wall textures (like 400+ types of bricks!) etc.

Great work, keep it up!

Nice.

And I'm NOT being an ass when I say this, but it seems that no one can texture map the "curb" of the street very well.

Great new screenshots! Pack is looking better and better.

Quote: "cheers Ben, i dont know if i will charge for this it all depends on how much imput i get from others. If this turns into a group thing then it free to all. "

Looking at all the cars, they do seem very very similair to the free ones I've downloaded. If you didn't create them yourself (and I don't think you did), you cannot sell the pack with them included, even though you did re-texture some of them perhaps.

Hey Carlito, could you offer your city pack for something else besides 3 characters? I mean, could you give us people that can't make characters another option to getting this pack free?
Thanks for the splendid work your doing here,
