Not that, just that I don't like uploading... asking some people to upload to file front, which would be better then the original host (download limit) the second host is gone, but the site was dead anyways. And Templar should upload this as well, so many people ask for it, and few ever deliver.

Hey, I bought Treemagik G2 from TGC, and I couldn't get hold of Aliencodec for updates, and when I found out that they were being bought by TGC, I emailed TGC about Treemagik updates, and they told me that people who bought G2 from them will get updates to G3 for FREE!! This is amazing! I can't wait! G3 is the best tree making program out there, and it's REALLY cheep!

They also said that the free upgade thing also goes for those that bought Plantlife!

Does anyone know if Treemagik G3 works any better in FPSC then G2? Wouldn't it be awesome if TGC made an FPSC compatible version of Treemagik? So when you exported the tree and texture will be FPSC ready Thats just a dream, but they probably wouldn't get enough sales to do that. All I would really need is the texture to be in ONE image, not the leaves and the trunk textures to be seperate. That makes it alot harder. Oh well.

Another thing that could be made better on Treemagik is the fact that you can't make very tall trees. I would like some VERY tall trees for a thick pine forest. Thats another thing! Pine trees! lol, I'm getting carried away... I drank to much Mountain Dew, I'm sooooo hyper right now... I gotta end this.... bye all!

wow

Useing Treemagik G2?
Do you do it useing that long process of making the leaves, but making the trunk REALLY skinny, then take off the leaves, but leave the trunk, then use both the models, and line them up to each other in FPSC? Thats a bit unprofessional for me. I would like to be able to make the tree into ONE model, and not have to use two different models. But thats just me

yes

im able to use 2 textures for a tree

best thing to do is

after exporting the .x file of a tree

make the textures a .tga file

then open the .x file in notepad

and where the original image names are , put the mas the .tga file you saved them as

so basically , ive ben able to assign 2 textures to it

What version of Treemagik do you use? I mean, Treemagik G2, G3, Classic, Plus, or just plain Treemagik? Because I can't find anywhere that it asks for a texture file in my .x file.

EDIT: Oops, sorry, I'm tired, I missed the filenames RIGHT at the top of the .x file. So yes, I can see where the .x file asks for the images. But how can I make the two images into ONE .tga image and avoid the tileing problems?

Love, have you made a full game yet? Until the engine can HANDLE large levels, asking for them won't do anything.

Here is a question, if DBP runs off of Direct X engine, why can't it just use .x instead of converting to .dbo? Too many types of .x

Ok, that was confusing. So, you want me to change all the .jpg files into .tga files, then change the file extensions in the .x file so that it will find the textures properly. But what was that about the .fpe file? Take a look at this screenshot I took. I didn't have to specify ANY texture at all in the .fpe file, but since the .x file tells a texture to be placed at cretain points, it does that properly!

Only problem is, I thought black was transparent in FPSC. I would REALLY like the rules on getting black to NOT being visible. I could use that REALLY bad.

Anyways, Thanks for your help TeMpLaR1!
When are you going to add a tutorial section on your downloads page?

Yeah XFrog is a bit pricey ($300-$400), depending on whether or not you want the animation package with it (XTune). They used it to make a few trees in the new War of the Worlds.

wow, how did they get those trees in Terragen? Thats what I've been trying to do for years! And that fog! How do they do that?

Hmm, I would rather buy Treemagik G3, it looks about as nice... well, maybe not as nice, but it's perfect for computer games. It's way better then any of the previous versions of Tremagik

But wow, those trees in Terragen. Maybe I'll email them

EDIT: Oh I see, they used Terragen 2... cheeze...

EDIT: Hmm, XFrog would be good, but I would want to see a demo. I like to know what I'm getting. But if you do get it, don't forget us! We could always use some trees here!
Man, it would be nice to be able to put some of thos trees into Terragen. Wow. DO that and take some good screenshots and you've got a sellable picture. Frame it and you could get some nice cash! Then make a collection of all your pics, and make a screensaver! Now that would be fun!
Anyways, I probably should go, cya
Thanks for mentioning XFrog to us Keith

Redundant, FPSC can use

BMP
JPG
PNG
TGA

and a few others, it just converts it to DDS.

TGA has several different formats, and some set black up as the alpha channel, others don't. PNG is naturally transparent (white), and MS-Paint has the format.

Well, I would like to mass produce trees. So I can't really give you every tree texture I ever make

Quote: "That little paint bucket in MS-Paint"

In this case that dosn't help. And I don't have Adobe Phototshop. I have the demo, and maybe that will work, I'll test.

EDIT: Um... Merrenvo, how can I find that color manager? Photoshop is a very expansive program
