THis is my Shmup compo entry.

At the moment, there are 2 aliens, 4 levels of shooting the player can have and one half a level. The aliens will come in waves of the same type.

New pod image and powerup engine complete. The pod going towards the player is a powerup. 2/19/06

You can collect pods and they will shoot with you. There is a maximum of 4 pods at a time. If you get hit with the sheild very low, you will lose a pod. The graphics are temporary, and I am still programming the collection of the pods. 2/19/06

it seems like you started to create nice game
and all of them are low quality. i suggest you to improve the quality (somehow)

Sorry, I'm a little confused. Are you saying that I am starting to create nice games and that they are all low quality, so I should make it higher.

Um...here are the games I have finished:
Laser Assault - Crappy, dodge the laser type game.
Laser Assault 2 - Better, (huge for that time) game where you shoot aliens in space(check PA boards. Somewhere on 3rd or 2nd page)
Bomb Roller - Good ball rolling tiled 3D game
Solar System simulation - Only took an afternoon, and no comments on it

Thats 4. Isn't that good enough progress. I think I have been progressing very quickly SINCE I STARTED DB PROGRAMMING DURING THE FALL LAST YEAR!!! AND STARTED PROGRAMMING AROUND THE BEGINING OF 2005!! Just because I actually finish most of my projects doesn't mean I progress slowly

The reason that they were low quality is because they are 640*480. The screenshots look a little pixalated, especially the blade enemies at the edges, but you don't notice that when playing since the fps is around 58. [EDIT] AND, they're JPGs.

Nope, around August 2005 (Sometime a little after school started) Actually, I just looked at the date I finished Laser Assault, and its November 2005. Laser Assault 2 is December 2005.

I'm not trying to brag, but I find it a little insulting (and inaccurate ) when I am told I learn slowly.

how about load those jps with good quality using QUALITY flag on the load image command?

and how about making a game around 1024x768 resolution..

I have DBC, and I think the biggest resolution I will use is 800*600. I will if I have fps to spare.

I like it , not bad ! I also love that you are sticking to dbclassic , while most ones who know how to use it have goon to dbpro , eaven i`m thinking about it , and i`m a noob to db !

(becouse im (top secretly) aware of few bugs in my game that i might not be able to fix , causing me to not finish the game for compo..(very possibly that i will be able to fix it , but i cant know untill i come to that part...)

UFO , i have an idea.

What about if i make you a launcher (sort of like g-launcher) but only customized BY EVERY EACH DETAIL you want , and i can also add "theme" so that it looks very nice , i can add whatever options you like (resoulution , texture quality , model quality ) ANYTHING you need.


If you would like it , please leave the details for options and other things you would like included. you can anyways leave me the details for what you need , it doesnt harm if i try , you dont have to use it !

Added new screenshot with missles!
It took me forever to get them right.
They are kind of hard to dodge, but not too hard.

BTW, The red ovals are temporary...

oh, also, the powerup engine is done. I have 3 powerups now:
*Adds health
*Adds pod
*Brings up shooting level
