in the demo "iced" that comes with db, there is a file "ice.dat"... i looked at it and it had some creepy text in it
does anyone know how do read and edit that stuff???????????

That is the terrain data. Each symbol probably represents a different terrain. I deleted all of the code and the monsters were still there. You could edit it if you found out what each symbol represents.

but thats just what i was wondering - does anybody have the "key" for each of the terrains?

i know, but whenever i change anything i don't remember the original way it was, and the whole matrix becomes a flat arena with walls on either side, (i tried a backup file, but it got screwed up)
