sure thing when the voting is over ill post the model and tectures for free use. Believe it or noit i didnt use any shaders or bump maps so the textures should look like that in a game.

Dude! That rocks, I love the texturing and lightmapping, what modeller did you use ?

Mine if I do a lil' judging of me own ?

Pros:

-Sweet modelling
-Great pants, head, belt, sword and boots. (the rest aren't as good)
-Pure lightmapping
-Fantastic texturing (especially the eyes)

Cons:

-Fingers too thin
-Pirate looks like a good guy (unless hes supposed to be a hero)
-The arms are kind of robotronic.(noticing that the 2 sleeves are exaclty the same)

But who cares? Its still a great looking pirate, and in the words of Captain Keemo1000 "ye just tell me the modeller ye chose to model this one mate, or me swear on pain o death I get ye ta scrub the deck a dozen times, and a dozen times again!"

In DBP - 3D is easier than 2D , 2 player is easier than Single player , Dont you think life rocks .. ?

Ok, heres my final submission, just added the sword. Someone mentioned something about an FF'ish style, I apologize, but I'm not familiar with that. I appreciate the competition idea! It was definitely fun! Thank you.

Edit: I added the .x file and texture files. It has a biped, so itll have usable limbs in DBPro.

Nice stuff coming along people, deadline is coming up, I see a lack of providing the models, it is not manditory, but I know Wigget wanted the models out of his own laziness to model his own Pirate

We finally decided on the absolute maximum should be about 100, however, if you are unhappy about it, I can spare 13 polys

The cell shading compliments that model so much with the texturing style, very well done.

But will you be able to use the guy with the same shader in the game , or this is just a render , because if it is possible , then wiget must change his whole style of the game graphics......

Sepp, yours reminds me of FF7, but would even more if his joints appeared to be hellishly skinny.

The models look great! I plan on entering another contest when I find the time to do so.

This is 709 polys, the hat is just for looks and isn't part of the model because I threw it together last second and it adds another 400 polys. I don't know what form the download should be in, so I'm putting an .X file in, you can just tell me if it should be something else.

lukas is the one with the coding, however we were always going for a mixed look mostly cartoony, so the cel shading it geat, and Yeah i must say, though some of your models look very well done, seppuku and new darken especially, I love coonig's version. keep the good work coming you guys.

Im not sure what day it is over where you are Sep but here its the 25th, so Im just wondering is the due date on the end of the 25th, or is it even the 25th over at your location?

I might not be able to get my entry in (atleast not textured), its my birthday today so I'll be pretty buissy for the rest of the day.

Im not asking for an extension just wondering on the exact time you're closing off entries.

Guess I shouldda send on the original post that the last day is 25th and not ends on the 25th lol

I dated it like that because I've been hanging around Cambridge all day, and all I ended up was buying a Thomas Hardy book, a mother's day present and coooool bendy pencil (I know immature, but hey its me)...corr...

DUDE DUDE DUDE! I just had the craziest idea! You know what we should do? A community project... and we use all of the entries from all the past competitions including this one! That would be crazy though, with all the pirates, and space ships, and machines. (Screen Polies : 900k)

We could put them together, but the prob would be if people still had their models and well benDstraw was setting up a community project, so a party of the community, lets call it the communist party (Classic, waynes world )

Arrrggghh!! No! Time!!! To!!! Texture!!! Properly!!!!
NNnnnnnggghh!

Started this last night, because I couldn't believe there were no Girl Pirates here. Bah. Didn't get time to do it justice with the texture - it's literally a 10 minute texture job.

(You can't tell from this picture, but she has a ponytail too.)

hmm, joes or seps or even tinkers one. Seppuku's model is extremely awesome in detail, but joes has that awesome cell shading, and tinker did reject my offer of marraige twice. hmmmmm.

lol in seriousness though My vote goes to joe. Just love the way that model looks in cell shading. Sepukku and tinker come in equal second, tinkers being the only girl one but still using the ff7 style and using it damn well. Sepukku your model is awesome in its detail whilst stil keeping the poly count low. And to the guy who made the post about a community project, heck yes it's an idea, i wanted to use these pirate models in a game, bu tmixing it with the past competitions is an even better idea, space pirates that fight each other by computers...

well since this is a modelling contest and not a render once im voting for ooga, you cant expect to get close to joes one in dbp do you? not to mention you need to run a shader just to make it look like that and i havent seen any shaders that work that well yet.

Halowed are the ori.

Just to be nice, I threw ooga booga's and New Darken's model into my program with the shader. Enjoy!

(sorry I only did two, but tinkergirl's was giving me trouble, and the other model posted didn't have a texture with it.)

What was giving you trouble, Joe?

And, for my vote, I'd like to vote for Joe's because it reminds me of the pirates in Yohoho Puzzle Pirates.
