OMG Blender is the worst user interface ever thats why they couldn't sell it comercialy! It took me a couple of hours to just figure out how to arrange the windows into 4 top,side,front,3d view!

If you want to make low poly animated models cheaply ($20) and easily (without hitting your brain on the keyboard in frustration!) then you can't beat Milkshape

Blender's not really that hard it's just different. Very different.

After you learn the hotkeys, it's now that difficult.

I dunno, personally if they changed the interface i would stop using it. I love the current interface. If they do ever change it I hope they will keep a seperate version out with the original UI.

Haha nice try mate.

Why arent people making comparisons with Lightwave?? When i used it, Lightwave's interface was the same. No images, just text on buttons. Now thats a commercial and well used package, yet there isnt any crap throwing happening there... Funny.

I presonally think milkshape is VERY basic, and just doesnt have enough in the way of power. I guess i did use it a while ago, but in terms of features and power, Blender is uncomparable with milkshape. Blender easily destroys it.

Without milkshape i would have no way to use any of its wonderful selection of import and export options. Thats the only reason i use it. Every time i model something in it the triangles kill it. Its so SLOW I hate modelling with it now!

Blender is challenging at first, thats why theres tutorials with the guy with the raspy voice to watch! and skip most of!

Once you get the buttons down the only time you stop to slow down is when moving verts or w/e into a good position. With a plan I can lay down a complete human model in a couple of hours. Then again I have a lack of planning desease or something, so I usually take the scenic route when I model.

I think I gave up blender for a week then saw what i could get out of it and was determined to get it right. And now its the only modelling/UV package I use. (aside from milkshape for the above reasons)

Sure the photoshop style buttons are nice and pretty, but you can only go so fast with one hand .

When I go super fast with blender I wear some fingerless workout gloves

blenders particle effects are nice. especailly the new water thingy.
considering that blender is free, the makers of 3d canvas pro should pay you to use itself.

I think 3D canvas is good for animation, but it should be free as it has nothing special enough about it.

I might try Blender because it is up to date, and well my version of Cinema 4D went out of date a while back, when radiosity was introduced, but is pretty sweet I mean the version I use was used in gladiator and the short movie called 'pump action' which is the balloon version of resevoir dogs

Yey! I removed the sig...

yeah blender is a good tool, but the best thing about it is its updates. They come regularly, and they are always exciting. The community/developers relation is the best ive ever seen.

Mesh modelling in Blender is a nightmare. Use Wings 3D! UV mapping in Blender is great once you get used to the interface. DBPro-Blender compatability has little to be said for it.
