I've already posted this in the DBPro forum, but was advised to post here too.

When I hit the spikes I actually pooped in my pants. Not since "Bootman" on the Tatung Einstein have I seen such a sudden death sequence.

I was physically unable to get past the spikes, because the character moved so fast. If that wasn't intentional, I suggest looking into slower syncing or timer based movement.

um.... I goes really fast, and then when you use a bomb, it drops to like two fps... Good game otherwise. Would have been better if the camera were father out though.

Oh yeah, where did you get that file connector, you know, the one program that allows you to select individual levels?

Woohoo! Cheers
Curse your fast computers!
The + and - buttons speed up and slow down the game.

The file connector / front end was programmed in Visual Basic.

If it doesn't work make sure:
1. You are running FRONTEND.EXE (not anything else.EXE)
2. You have installed DirectX 9c3
3. You have installed the Visual Basic Runtime libraries (you should get a message telling you you do not have a DLL if this is the case, download the DLL mentioned.)
4. Try messing with the options before launching a level (click GAME SETUP on the main menu).

Pretty good. The swapping between the frontend and main game every time you die or finish a level is a bit naff, but it works I suppose.

For some odd reason my player is white and looks a bit odd, and the coloured lighting is a bit hit and miss. Some of the graphics could do with tweaking as they look a bit basic, but like me you are probably pants at 3d modelling, so everything is either a cube, plain or sphere.

Have to agree with adr about the death sequence though. Very sudden! THen realised I had to press return, which exits to windows and gives you a vb request box, then if you want to replay level it has to reload in whole game again.

Overall though it's a good effort.

Boo!

It was the first game I ever made in D.B. Try messing with the options screen for some changes, I forgot to remove my personal settings file before zipping the game up, so by default the enemies don't move and such.

The VB front end is there because I was originally going to write the whole thing in VB!

The game is still a bit buggy in places, but it's far too long since I completed it now to go back to it, so sod it, here's the source code!
