Note:
You need at least a 32MB video card (may work on 16MB) and DX8 to play TML. You may find that it runs slow or have graphical errors if your system is too old, it may not even start.

TML rc2 LT:
Everything you need exept music. Pea-Guy also talks when you try to open a looked door. This doesn't happen in patch 1.0.10 as I didn't want to increase the filesize too much.

http://digaw.com/TMLrc2lt.zip 10.6MB

Patch 10
Fixes:
Sprint added by pressing shift, doubles movement speed.
Movement acceleration.
Pover charge rate doubeled.
Added "Thanks to" to credits.
Able to play music if it's added.
Stoped camera movement and animation when game is paused.
Damage number disapears sooner.
Fixed battle reset bug when loading.
Stats for heroes and nasties have been tweeked.
More gold from green chompies only.
Less experience awarded by all nasties exept green chompies.
Images no longer needed are deleted to free up more video RAM.
Music no longer resets when loading a game or escaping from the load menu.
Added a guide, read it.
Fixed music bug after battles caused by patch 5.
Correct text color is now used in dialogs and characterscreen.
Pea-Guy now tells you why he wont continue (no weapons or leaving friend).
You will now lose 100 exp for every hero that dies in battle.
Fixed AI tracking bug.
You can now shop again without having to move first.
The roof is now hidden properly when loading games inside buildings.
Fixed some grammar.
Mortuator now have a correct amount of points.
Nasties are now easier during the first act and becomes harder in later acts.
Waves can no longer be turned of, thanks to patch 4 they take much less power.
TML now have 16bit and exclusive modes for older systems.
Player exist notify.
You can now delete old players with the delete key.
Fixed crash when a new game was started in exclusive mode.

Extract the zip into the main folder.

http://digaw.com/TMLrc1010.zip 2.00MB

Music:
This requires version rc1.0.4 or better. Just put the music folder into the media folder in TML.

http://digaw.com/TMLmusic.zip 9MB

Ok bug 1: The game won't work after the first dialog!

Woot, it was like this:

I bet my friends need rescuing again... White arrow appears, game disappears.

Let me try again.

Btw: it takes so long to load.

Nice Dialoge idea!

Cheers.

Runtime Error 7018 - Could not load 3D object at line 680

I got this massege right after I entered the blacksmith, he was about to take my 1200 dollars and give me a weapon

I like how when you enter a building, the roof disappears for better view

Cheers.

P.S: More bugs to find!

1 more bug:

When I was trying to load my game, screen went black right after it says: Act 1-Things that fall from the sky. NO buttons work: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Alt+F4, Esc, Alt+Tab etc...

I had to restart my comp.

I think that this is a severe bug.

Cheers.

Ok, this time I made a new char, got a weapon, and fought 2 guys.

Since it was slow, I got bored of it and quit the game.

Except when it was unloading, it wasn't unloading, like 15 min. When I pressed Ctrl+Alt+Del, TNL took up 595 Megs of my precious DDR!

Now you tell me what is wrong with that.

Cheers.

It seems to me that bug after bug disapears for you. Are you running with any apps in the background, that may cause TML to run slow and maybe that's why it sometimes fail to work. What kind of system do you got?

Over at RGT ony one had problems with the demo. He can't even load the main menu. I think that's his 8MB video card. Everybody else is having fun playing =)

I was asked to post a shot. This is from FarAway Town where you buy your weapons at the beginning of the game.

Your graphics card is slow, try changeing the options to speed up the game.

Edit:
I got an Athlon 1200 but a GF2 Pro. I can run TML with max settings (standard) while I listen to mp3s in winamp and download files from the net without any slowdowns.

I have added acceleration + lovered the speed a little depending on your FPS. If you max out 50 fps then you will move 25% slower. I think it's nice.

Here's a new exe, try it out and tell me what you think.

I think that you should make the battles slightly quicker as waiting for the bar to fill up for so long is kind of boring. The game otherwise is really great, although I can't get passed the second battle! Are you going to make the civillians do things, like move, because they are a bit stiff at the mo (just some suggestions) .

Why the hell'd you ask me for crying out loud!?!

Ok, a new patch.

Because everybody else don't have the same patient as me I have doubeled the power charge rate. You can also press shift to sprint in exploration mode.

http://www.realgametools.net/forums/attachments/TMLrc102.zip

I have also tested the music (in ogg format) and it works great so far. Thanks to Mushroom head.

ok, first off this new one is awsome, not only that but somehow you got rid of the blue sgilly thing that kept apering on my screen for the old demo.

a few things to crit, pea guys sword swing is a little slow, it dosn't seem like he'd do very much damage, sound effects and music are definitly needed (but I know you will work on that in time).

those are the main but a few things about the modles, the people in th e town are actualy kind of creepy the way they are containtly smiling and just stading there, if you made them move around once and a while it would be more realistic. Also The floting sword and sheild are cool but I think you should have floting hands holding them....just my opinion

looks great, keep it up

Thanks =) Yeah, using the specials and eating items before you go into battles makes it much easier. And don't forget to use your levelups to become stronger and gold to by new items. I have no problem playing through the whole demo end end up with lots of items left.

Blazer:
Thanks =) That may be thanks to patch 4 I don't know.

Well, it's ok speed for me, it depends on how fast the game runs on your system. Sound FX are already in. And the music patch should be ready before I go to bed in an hour or 2.

Sorry, can't do anything with the villagers, have no time. And I can't put hands on the characters even though I want to as they are not mine.

I tried running TML too, but it worked way too slow and it took forever to load.
Here's my specifications:
128 MB RAM
16 MB NVidia Vanta\Vanta Graphics card

Even though it didn't work right, it looks like a really cool game!

Well I finally got it to work and all I have to say is "DARN SPIFFY!"

Even thought the main character is a sphere. , still very creative and easy to play. Keep it up! However the "Unloading" time was a little disargreeable.

DG - I finally got it working and all I can say is AWESOME!!!

I love it! I love the new scenery it really breaks it all up, and the walking animation with the weapons is just right!

The battle system works really well too, but I can't get past the 2nd battle... Oh well I'm sure I'll crack it any second I'm also downloading the patches and music now

This is brilliant work man, very professional, very polished

Thanks everyone =)

Chess:
It's your graphics card that's too old. Try changeing the options. Set texture to low, resolution to 800x600 and turn of the waves.

Brent:
Not my fault unloading take so much time. But it will clear up your memory so it's really a good thing. If you want a fast quit then use alt+f4 but I'm not responsible for what happens =)

Kang:
Make sure you use your items before going into battle and use your special attacks. The white chompy for example usually takes 2 of Pea-Guy's double slash to beat. Your heroes are too week to survive without using the special attacks in the beginning of the game.

Music doesn't work. I think that the time bar filling quicker was a big improvement, as nothing much happened inbetween (although I like the scrolling around the battle feature ), you could always make a battle speed option where you can have slow, medium and fast, or just normal and fast, that way it would suit all people.

I also really like how the roof disappears when you look through the top of the shops!

Do you got the latest patch installed? You need that to play the music. Check the readme, it should say 1.0.4 at the top.

Well, there is still plenty of waiting time and the camera is prety zoomed out when the nasies attack so I think it's fine this way. There's really no one what have complained that the new speed is too fast.

Yeah, the roof idea is a good one that I came up with before I even got my hands on DB. Now it's the first time I actually use it =)

You got "audiere.dll" in the main folder where the exe is?
You got a folder named "music" inside the folder named "media"?
And lastly do you got 3 ogg files in that music folder?

If so then please post your system configuration including windows version.

I get a random 'Object doesn't exist at line 2049' sometimes, usually in the first battle? Strange, it only happens maybe 1 in 5 times?

Still stuck at battle 2 - why can I only sometimes use the star attacks when I have star power in the bar?

I'm getting better tho Man I've got no work done 2day I keep playing this, it rocks!

[Edit] BTW The music works fine, and is very atmospheric - I like it

It must be something with the loading, maybe some object doesn't load fast enough or you're out of RAM. I don't know what to do about it. I'm thinking of deleting some images that are no longer needed. Maybe that can get it to work better. You could try to set the texture to mid as that would take far less memory on the graphics card. Try it and tell me if you still get the bug.

You can only use the special attack when you have all 3 action points, if you move you have to wait for the power to reach full again. That's one of the reasons I included a wait action. It's the X at the bottom of the action menu. Using this with full power will cost you 1 ap, if you only got 1 or 2 aps left it won't cost anynthing. Against the white chompy it's best to only use special attacks since you're at a such low level.

Yeah, I'm glad I found that tracker, he's amazing =) However there may be some problems with Rav's Streamplayer on some windows versions.

I doubt its my system RAM I have 1024Mb My graphics card is a 64Mb GForce4 so I wouldn't think thats that problem either but I'll try it. Its not a major problem anyways the games very playable with it.

In the battles Ahhhh I didn't realise you lost a action point when moving. That explains it Sure I'll b able to do it now

I love the intro btw, and well done for including a 'unloading' part - you're the only person other than myself who I have seen doing that

When will the full version b available, I've a feeling I might well purchase

Then you should have no memory problems at all.

Yepp, you can only move 3 times =) And if you take one step to do something you may as well take 2 at no extra cost. That's kinda the beauty of the system, make is more realistic. Only when you're not moving will the attacking and use of inventory only cost 2 ap leaving you with one left. But have you started to move you can move more at the same cost. And the specials requires more focus from the hero so he can't move while doing one.

There may be a better intro on the final CD made in flash. There will be a max of 7 games on the CD. All about Pea-Guy =) I don't think anyone else is making an RPG though.

Yeah, the unloading part is good for the computer =)

Looks nice, ran without problems but slow as hell, I'd say maybe 5 FPS the whole time.

PIII 600Mhz
NVidia RIVA TNT2 32MB
128MB Ram
WinXP
Latest Drivers
Low Res + Med Textures

I'll do some more testing when I have the time

ie- when I am taking a break from my game...

So, is the full game pretty much done now?

Good that it works on your system. However it wasn't really made to run on that kind of machine. Remember to turn of the waves (CPU hungry) and try setting the textures to low. And tell me if it's still really slow.

Well it's mostly editor work left now as making this demo meant getting almost everything to work. Most media is also done.

Hamish:
Great that the music works now. You had me worried there =)

You're the first to at least say you completed it, congratulations =) I'm gonna write a little guide soon for all with problems.
