What the??

I'd forgotten about this - sorry HowDo. So, um, I won, did I? Right-o then. A DBO challenge... hmm.... A spaceship then.

Challenge:

Using only DB commands (i.e. no non-DB created media) create a spaceship of one of the following types:

1. Heavy Cargo Hauler.
2. Light Fighter Ship.

Additional credit will be given to DB created textures ("get image" etc) and things like rotatable turrets/engines.

As a last, but important rule - it should be based on LIMBS. As in - there should be a base object, and all extra parts added as limbs to that object. So that should someone wish to MOVE that spaceship - they just move the parent object.

Deadline: 30th June, 8pm GMT. (2 weeks).

Every time you make a sphere, you make a very high poly sphere. You can change the number of polys in any sphere you make, by changing the column and (other number - can't remember the name).

For example -

will make a lower poly sphere, than:

Yes that what I found out when making the clock, after seeing what size your clock model was I reduce mine down in size , also the frame rate went up as well.

Gets a bit confusing when you take it down to the size of one or to point something.

cheers for the info , off to make cargo box now I have something to fly it.

How you doing, anyone have anything to show yet, I have but not posting yet, might scare some of you away.

Poly count is now upto 24272 and the frame rate is about 170 +/- a few.

HowDo, unless there are some secret last minute entries soon - well, I'm not sure this challenge thread of yours has legs. It's not been swamped under by entries, that's for sure.

Ok All you DBO'ers out there its a free for all just enter something using DBO.

What ever you want big or small and to make it a little bit easier for some; here some code to get you started.

just put some numbers in the function calls and start your modeling.(you'll have to workout were each object goes yourself)

It start with a basic sphere which you then link all other mesh to it.

As a last, but important rule - it should be based on LIMBS. As in - there should be a base object, and all extra parts added as limbs to that object. So that should someone wish to MOVE that object - they just move the parent object.

So there you are overload the thread with DBO's

Tinkergirl if anyone does enter this time you still on for judging.

If you get more than 2 entries, yes I'll judge. Sorry it wasn't more popular, HowDo.

Well this must so hard that only a few of you are able to do this.

Or am I wrong and its just some of you have other things to do.

So its still as the above thread enter what you like using DBO. it can be big, small, hard, easy just give it a try.

Just bumping to keep it alive and open.

If anyone can think of a challange that would be of use to everyone, then post a request.
