Well, you need the media for that. And you must make that yourself. But Darkbasic can put it all together and create something very nice.
The voice is something you have to record yourself and the animation you have to draw or model yourself. That is how it works. Everywhere.
Dark basic puts it together and you have your intro.
And perhaps even a whole game attached to it. But again: you have to do the models and other art. Offcourse there are some primitives you can play with.
As for your second question. It looks as nice as you make it. If you put two hours work in it, it looks like two hours work. If you put two weeks in it, you can see that.
Darkbasic can produce whatever you want, but you have to do it. That's how DB and any other language works. Only DB makes it easy to put things together.
Hope that was the answer you wanted?

Darkbasic can play .avi videos, which can be movies of anything, and most 3d modelling programs support it. However, if you made it with a 3d proggie, you'd need another program to add sound and music. However, when you've got that done (which, as superbeest said, can take weeks if you want excellent FMV's ) you can easily load them in DB with the load animation command, thus requiring very little on the part of DB.

.avi, game engine.

but first you need an idea, and usually a cutscene is somehing you would add in last, after you've done the story, modelling, texturing, animating, coding, by then you'd have a plethora of media to use in your cutscene, and you could either use your game engine with some custom animations, or render the cutscene in a 3d program, then display it as an .avi movie in your game. Or it could be as simple as a video of you going "I wanna make a cutscene", captured and saved in .avi format and displayed using darkbasic's animation commands

ZX Spectrum 48k Issue 3, Radio shack Tape drive, Rank arena 12" T.V. set.
