yea but there is a way to fix that and i'm trying to keep the stuff low poly

Quote: "SET OBJECT SMOOTHING

This command will smooth the sharp edges of the mesh within an object by adjusting the normals data. A
percentage value of zero will perform no smoothing and create a facet surface for each limb within the
object. A percentage value of 100 will perform full smoothing, averaging all normals that share a vertex
position and create a smoothing effect elimiating all edges. A value between these two limits will determine
the degree beyond which an edge will be smoothed or left sharp.

Syntax

SET OBJECT SMOOTHING Object Number, Percentage

why keep it low poly if its going to be for DBpro because of the .dbo format.

.dbo has nothing to do with how fast the objects will be handled inside DarkBasic. You will only see a greater improvement on the loading times. So higher poly will still mean more for db to handle. Even if it's .dbo.

And, uhm, so? 700 is TINY. My standard startup codeset is 500 lines alone.

yeah lay off the new guys back a bit.

Looks fairly basic man, but i do like how it saves as a .dbo Only problem is that random terrains arent exactly the go here, so why not develop one that you can mould terrains in?

Actually, the line count doesn't really matter all that much - the functionality matters in the long run. Just look at the 20 line challenges

So yeah, a way to mold the matrix would be good, and perhaps a smoothing function that lessens the peak/valley stuff?

Let's be fair, it does randomise the landscape, and it doesn't to it so it's úber boring, but maybe if you made it vary a little more rather than just raising one huge tile it would be cool.

looks ok, i think it would be better if you could choose a texture for the landscape and if you could smooth it

Interesting...the landscapes remind me of the rainbird stuff from 16bit days (starglider, carrier command and such)
