Can the DSDK open DBO files?
Will it be able to in its next upgrade?

I hope so, because then I would buy 3D World Studio

Yes it can save & load .dbo files. But you should look the version that 3D world studio exports... Is it the same?

3DWS exports the latest version of dbo, I have the same problem.
