sorry if this is the wronge place to post.

I was thinking, take super smash brothers, and replace the characters with people in combat suits (that look sort of like gundams).

You could edit your character as much as you want, but theres a draw back, if you put 2 gattlin guns and 2 missle launchers on your guy, he will be extremly slow in combat.

so edit your guy until he fits you perfectly, maby you want speed and melee combat, put on a jetpack and a saber, or maby you like to be a living turret, load up on ammo and guns and be a tank.

im not sure if your health gose up and you become easier to smack around, or your health gose down untill you die.

I'm hoping you'll be able to play online with 4 or so players.

tell me what you thing, should it be only a 2 diretion game? ect....

Ever played Virtual On? That was a damn cool game!

If could make a game like that, but for four players, I'd be at the front of the queue to play it!

so actually more like metal warriors(old SNES game) i LOVE that game. i had it on my emulator for a while then i got rid of my emulator. it was an awesome game. only difference was that you couldn't change customize your "metal warrior". it cam with weapons and a special atk that couldn't be changed.

Just got DBPro. After a lots of small things to learn, i plan on creating an Isometric RPG
I consider myself: ABSOLUTE NEWB!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds a bit like Custom robo or Custom Robo V2 for the N64, though it wasnever released in Europe and possibly not america so some may not have played it. That was based on a 2-d adventure but with 3-d battles using customizeable robots.
If you are doing it using didfferent limbs glued onto a 3-d mesh then you could think of doing it in a 3-d environment as oppose to a 2-d smash brothers style one since the same 3-d models would work for both.
Smash brothers melee has some trophys from the custom robo series should anyone want to see what it was like.

how are you going to realise a 4-player system? do you want to make it in 2D or in 3D?

cool idea, was plannin on making something like this later on lets see..

- would be better if you like made an arena for the combat (have u seen heavy gear?) so as many guys as u want can load up not just 4.
- make it multi-directional 3rd person view.
- set up some kinda online score table so the best players will feal appreciated.

just suggestions

This is different from Mech Warrior?

I could understand if the mechs are jumping around with the dextarity of melee characters, but that would defy the laws of anything...

Ahh, Mechwarrior. I'm actually in the process of playing through Mechwarrior 3 yet again - one of my favourite games ever!

I'm personally not that interested in nimble, agile mecha like those seen in some anime series, I prefer a nice, hulking Battlemech - something that feels like 100 tonnes of raw firepower!

That said, I'm still quite a big fan of Shogo...
