We are spread all around - more of a safety thing, you don't want all your eggs in one basket!

Don't worry, FPSC is looming large under our microscope, new life will be breathed into it!

A step-by-step video tutorial on how to import a weapon into FPSC would be cool.
That is one of the most asked questions.
A vieo tutorial showing each step of the process would make it a lot easier on the newer forum members.

@The Silent Killer,
As nice as that would be for the new guys you've got to understand that's not really a part a FPSC. There could be one of many programs used for this same process. Fred's suggestion would cover anything from the .x file point on.
As sick as I get of threads asking to help "animate" models, this isn't the solution, as this isn't a modeling program forum.

@RickV
It's nice to hear that FPSC is "looming large under our microscope" even if your just blowing wind up my skirt......Just nice to hear from an official even if it says nothing really....heh.

I consider FPSC to have more game making potential than DBPro (in the long term). So there's no way we are leaving it in it's V1 state. We did need to deal with things on the DBPro side and we still have other issues we have to deal with but FPSC will not stand still for much longer.

It would be great to see an improvement in FPS. Right now, its capped at 33fps and isnt great for games, it means we have to use really low poly models, or very few.

That's definately good to hear. When the time gets closer, are you going to post a short list on areas you guys are going to focus mainly on? Are you planning on recruiting some of the better-versed users of FPSC to help with bug-spotting, etc.; or just read through the Bug Reports? I know I'm hoping for improvements on Frame-rate, and executable file size (quite large right now); along with a better collision system. Hopefully it'll be in time for the New Year.

I wholehearedly agree.When one level can run close to 100MB any decrease in file size would be welcome.An increase in framerate would be excellent and improving the collision system would imrove realism.
I'll be happy with any improvements.FPSC is an excellent product and improving on it can only make thnings better.

I think the comments from RickV show that FPSC is what we all knew it to be - an innovative concept that was long overdue in the indie market - the potential of which as a core TGC product they are obviously well aware of.

From recent TGC comments I must say its good to hear what they have to say.

As a core product in the TGC game making environment they will know full well where such a product will need improving to meet with that said future potential so I dont think we users need to worry in the long term at least. I am sure the important areas of the product which users see as being in need of improving or adding will recieve the attention they deserve sooner or later if at all possible. You know it makes sense!

The rest is then down to the users to take the product and show what can be achieved utilising to the full that said potential and capability in real game making scenarios.

From what I have seen there are already many that are capable of doing that with some considerable skill and creativity and that will I am sure continue following FPSC updating so we can I am sure expect to see a new breed of quality games made with FPSC being developed and released as time progresses.

Its an exciting time to come at these forums and I for one am glad to be part of it.

Happy game making!

Hey fred, two things.

On-topic: You got one kickin' video there! Did you just use screencaps or vidcap?

Off-topic: Where exactly in Indiana are you?

I used AutoScreenRecorder 2.0 to capture the video game footage.
It is free and very easy to use.
Just remember to diable the pointer (like I obviously forgot to do) before you record any video game footage.
I live a little town called Fairland in Indiana.It's like six blocks long.

That's crazy, dude...I'm in North Manchester right now. And if I'm not mistaken, Fairland's about at the halfway point between there and Salem, where the rest of my family's at.

I don't know, nor do I really care, Higgins. Why do you gotta be getting on my case all the time anyway? I make one statement that you don't like, and you gotta be all beligerant on me.

On-topic, have they decided who gets the packs from this thread?

I was in no way referring to you, Gemstone. I was only asking why the US take city names from the UK. Dont you also have Liverpool in New York? Because Liverpool is where I come from in the UK.

Rick... is this an attempt to mass market FPSC with little to no effort on your behalf? lol... it probally will work.

Personally, I hate YouTube, over my years on dialup and unstable internet connections I discovered that YouTube has the most problems, ranging from ill responsive controls to losing the video stream and add in the really gaudy video controls.

Google Vids is okay, I've never lost the stream from them, and it was easy to pick it back up when I did lose it. But the quality is deplorable, many vids have visible artifacts due to the compression techniques.

And one of the more annoying things is that almost no video site wants you to be able to download the video, at least not without giving personal infromation to them.

All in all, video sites suck. (That made my point rather clear)

Hmm, I think Youtube is great, never had any problems here.

Then again, you're still on dialup? Ouch. I don't think ANY video site caters to "your kind".

I adopted broadband as soon as it became available in my neck of the woods, and that was back in 1999. Or don't they have broadband in Spain or wherever you're from, Les?

no... I was, and in that time I noticed fundemental flaws in sites like you tube.

porque tu pensas yo soy espana? Yo idioma de preferencia esta Inglés. Yo hablo espanol muy mal y yo conosco pequino.

I don't live in spain... I live in Bushica, the newly concured country that is only a little older then 300 years.

I think video is a great way for our community to share visually what they are doing and yes it will help promote TGC (no harm in that eh?)

I think all of these video sharing sites are young and they will mature, even Google has Video adverts now.

Curse You... (I just realized what you were saying) I want an S-VIDEO IN on my pc. lol. Then I can do cool stuff like watch old VHS tapes on my laptop, or play low grade console videogames on my laptop, or... watch DVD's on my laptop (what do you mean I can already do that?)... oh, I can watch Tivo on my, OH i can watch tv too. lol. Why don't all laptops come with an S-VIDEO in, almost no-one uses the S-VIDEO out anyways (except those who watch DVD's with their PC's on big screen TV's)

@Walking Dead Productions:
Dial-up isn't that bad, the problem is once your on DSL you have a hard time thinking anything but.

Also, if you change your (is it your?) double barrel shotgun to flip and drop the rounds instead of them mearly flying out. Just a note.
