I'm running the extended demo of DBC, which I got off a coverdisc from a magazine (PC Active). It is like the trial, only no time limit and it comes with a fair few tutorials and resources, but still gives the annoying mark at the start and finish of my .exe's to remind me I haven't paid the creators of this wonderful tool yet.

After playing around with the in-built tutorials, I came on here to find some more help to do stuff, and i've found that there are heaps of commands which it can't read (even though it should as I double check to make sure its for DBC and not DBPro). Does anyone else have this problem or suggestions on how to fix it?

Thanks.

the demo doesnt have the added features.

If u bought a real copy you would be privvy to many commands upto 113 and then the enhancement pack with a few more commands would be required as another purchase to get the full suite in DBC.

or just get DBP

there are two versions of DarkBasic out there...

Trial 1.08 which is DarkBasic Standard, it is contains only the command set you would recieve if you bought the CD version.

Trial 1.13 which is DarkBasic Enhanced, which is DarkBasic 1.08 + the patch to 1.13 which enables all of the commands which you would get if you purchased DarkMatter (which contains the Enhancements Pack)

check to see which version of the DarkBasic Trial you have... you can find a copy of 1.13 available here
you get 500 compiles from the trial if i remember correctly, and the ability to build EXEs has been stripped. Plus you will only have the Enhancements for 30days.

but within that time there are no other restrictions like with earlier demonstration versions.

speaking of the pro" version , you should try both , and carefully study the commands of the pro and classic because each has its advantages and disadvantages. Personally , I prefer "Classic"
cheers!
