Hi,

This is probably a topic that is addressed in the forums more than once before but because there is no search (the only forum I know that doesn't have a forum btw) in the forum, I will ask it here again. Hopefully someone can help me.
I have made a model in Milkshape and exported it as .X file. However, when I try to view the object in DBP (very simple code, tried several scaling/no scaling, tried autocam on/off) I only see
a grey square instead of my model.
Does anybody know the reason for this, and a possible cure?
thanks in advance.

When you say grey squares, do you mean you model is all warped out of shape or you model is just untextured? In both cases the texture must be in the same file as the model, put them both in the project file and see if that works.

The Legend of Zelda IS NOT an RPG! It's an Adventure, just like Ico or Dark Cloud.

Ok, sorry for the lack of a clear problem statement.
The fact is that I don't see the loaded object at all, when
loading it in DBP.
When I use this code however

I see only a square.
I found this code somewhere on this forum, I guess it is
meant to test your loaded object. Apparently my .X object isn't
recognized by DBP as being a Direct X object (while WinXP does see
it as a .X file)

So I don't think the model is warped out of shape, I just don't see
anything.
All help appreciated....

I think your model just may be either too big or too small, the reason the cube is there is because you made one in the first part of you're code. Try adding a pan and zoom into the program and maybe it'll turn up. If this don't help you may need to ask those more expeanced than myself, they'll be along sooner or later.

I tried that now but without result
When I use the same code with another X file
(one of the tutorial games) I do see that model.
So I don't think anything is wrong with this test code,
or does anybody have some piece of code for me?
Just to test if I can view my object.

Perhaps it is a small problem but I don't see a solution
and it annoyes me that I can't even show one single model
on the f**king screen [b])
