You could minimize it to a tray icon while a game is running, because at the moment it closes and you have to keep running it when you finish the game.

I think

This is

One of the top best projects I've ever seen in my life

And I don't say that for everyone... (edits all my other posts in other threads)

Really, Lukas, I wish you taught a programming class or wrote a book or something.

Oh man, Lucas, this is looking sweet! Will you be letting people add their games on later, or maybe "registering" some kind of account to do so? People would abosolutely love to showcase their games on this. Another suggestion too, what about some kind of media tab, where people could view trailers for games. I dunno how you could do that unless you open the site which the trailer is on in the window. Keep up the good work, best project in a while.

that would be cool to have a media tab for trailers and movies.
it could easily be done by implementing a web browser for streaming videos. thanks for the tip.

i think i will write a list of tips i have got so far.

this is what i collected from the posts:

Also, another suggestion. The install feature didn't work until i downloaded the free winzip trial. I only realized this once i saw the posts. Coulc you possibly program it to do other compressors, for instance, I use LZarc. http://www.izarc.org/ Just a suggestion, I dunno what other people use.

Thanks!

i think it will be available for download some time next week.

today and yesterday i've been working v. much on this.
and working long on a project really pays off.

what is left to do is:

* updates + read update file log
* download games
* install games
* play games
* edit your uploaded games
* delete your uploaded games

what is changed since my last post:
* no registration is required
* you don't have to login
* when you upload a game you must apply a password for the game.
this password is used to identify yourself if you want to edit or delete that game later on.

bye all, i need to run to the bus now!

You have to be connected to the internet while playing. (Everybody can have a server error including them)
My friend had to open a non-web browser, non-IM & non-P2P program to run the game. F.ex: He used a fre MMORPG game
ETC, ETC, ETC...

not sure if i understand what you mean.
Do you mean you don't want to connect to the internet to play a game?

If so, then i have done it like this:
at application startup, it checks for connection to the MySQL Database. If no connection is found, you will not be able to download/upload games, neither check for updates. but you will be able to install/play games previously downloaded.

I get the error "No Internet Connection found" when trying to download a game. No extra information has been given, but I was connected to the internet when I tried, in fact, the web browser was open.

GameDeveloper, make your own games with a drag-and-drop interface. Basically t3dgm+fpsc editor combined.

ah, basically it means that it cannot find the game you wish to download, or the url leads to a file that is no longer available.
it has nothing to do with your internet connection at all.

forget about all other posts about blueGui and all that.
after some problems with bluegui that i have NO clue about how to fix i decided to use a custom built GUI. in my opinion it looks much better too

this is all DBPro and Cattlerustlers MySQL Dll.
I can easily create other color themes aswell.
I just created this one because I love the new skin in steam.

Gil,
No i think you must've misunderstood.
I only had the theory exam done, i still had the final exam left.
however last wednesday (almost a week ago) i had the final exam, and i passed
I'm looking at cars right now but i don't have enough money for one.

Now the "download game" feature works.
I had some problems figuring out how to support multiple downloads at once. the problem was not that it didn't work, but the files it downloaded were corrupt.

so for the time beeing you can only download one game at a time.

the new feature of v2 is that you can continue using the application, play games, view game information etc. while a game is downloading.
though it isn't working perfect yet, there's a 30% chanse or something that the file is corrupt once done.

allthough if you leave it while it's downloading, the file is downloaded just how it should be.

Nice work, I'd suggest you change the font though, cos the one you're using is very sharp

Thanks. Also, what kind of font would you prefer?

Here is a test release of the application.
those of you who want to, please help me find as many bugs as possible
so that I can start working on other modules.

the only module working is:
* Online
* Settings
* About (check for updates and download update)

If you can find any bugs one of these modules, please let me know.

Requirements for running this application:
* (I think you need) ODBC Drivers: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/3.51.html
* an Internet connection
* latest version of directx 9: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.mspx
* Mouse

Edit, Also if you can run this application without ODBC drivers installed, let me know

Thanks!
